Stephenie Meyer To Adapt ‘Down A Dark Hall’
The book centers around a 14 year-old girl named Kit who attends a mysterious boarding school. Meyer’s book, The Host is already being adapted for the big screen by In Time/Gattaca writer and director Andrew Niccol for a 2013 release.
A statement from Stephenie says, “Down a Dark Hall was my favorite of her novels (though it’s a very close race with Summer of Fear and Stranger with My Face) and it gave me some serious nightmares when I was nine.”
“I will have more information on my Fickle Fish site for those interested when there is more to share.” To elaborate on the plot, a summary from a user on Amazon says that the protagonist is faced with terrifying circumstances…
“Kit and her new friend Sandy soon find out the reasons why they were selected to attend Blackwood. Soon their lives are at stake and it’s up to Kit to find a way out.” I’ll give you a hint, it has to do with famous dead people.
Oh and note to Saoirse Ronan of Hanna fame – Stephanie Meyer wants to kidnap you. On the movie version of The Host, she writes: “I am not ready to be done because I am not ready to give up Saoirse, who I would happily adopt by force if I didn’t like her parents so much.” RUN.
