Random Muppets ‘Green Album’ At Starbucks

Standing in line today to finally fulfill my craving for a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, I flip through the four albums eyeing me from the counter by the biscotti and gift cards, and what do I find?

An album full of Muppet cover songs. A strang grouping of artists – a Weezer and Haley Williams pairing? Alkaline Trio? Rachael Yamagata? Hmm I like all these things, on their own. BUT NOT ON A MUPPET COVER ALBUM!

I suppose if I had a brood of non-sleepy runts, I’d play this crap for them, in hopes of relaxation. Otherwise, why does this exist? What is it for?

Tracklist:

  1. Ok Go – ”The Muppet Show Theme”
  2. Weezer and Haley Williams – ”The Rainbow Connection”
  3. The Fray – ”Mahna Mahna”
  4. Alkaline Trio – ”Movin’ Right Along”
  5. My Morning Jacket – ”Our World”
  6. Amy Lee – ”Halfway Down the Stairs”
  7. Sondre Leche – ”Mr. Bassman”
  8. The Airborne Toxic Event – ”Wishing Song”
  9. Brandon Saller and Billy Martin – ”Night Life”
  10. Andrew Bird – ”Bein’ Green” (Andrew Bird)
  11. Matt Nathanson – ”I Hope That Somethin’ Better Comes Along”
  12. Rachael Yamagata – ”I’m Going to Go Back There Someday”
[The Green Album was released August 23rd, 2011. And it sucks more than Sasha Grey]
