A flatbed truck carrying a quarter of a billion bees crashed on Sunday after taking a turn improperly and tipping over. The driver, Louis Holst, said that after the crash him and his wife were stung multiple times.
Louis and his wife, Tammie, both Washington natives, were on the highway headed to a farm in Southern California when the incident occurred. Holst said:
“First responders came and drug me and my wife through the front window, then we panicked. We just started swinging our clothes. They stung her all up and down her neck.”
Beekeepers arrived on scene in an attempt to capture the swarming insects, who were worth an estimated $116,000, but they were mostly dead or gone.
This is not the first time something of this nature has happened, last May a truck carrying 7,000 bee hives collided with three other vehicles in Minnesota, with similar results.
I think this story is from the Onion. Never happened. You where fooled.
