Naomi Campbell And Cindy Crawford In Duran Duran’s ‘Girl Panic’ Music Video

I know a song is old when I wrote an article  mentioning it back in March…Simon and the band have redeemed themselves with their best song since 1997 and their best album since 1983’s Seven And The Ragged Tiger.

Now they’ve enlisted Lady Gaga’s old friend Jonas Åkerlund to direct a video featuring the vintage supermodel likes of Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen and Naomi Campbell actually portraying the band members!

The only problem is, the visual for “Girl Panic” (the new “Electric Barbarella”) is a little dialogue-heavy (damn you Åkerlund, you’re NOT the Swedish Tarantino) at nearly 10 minutes, for a song that’s just under five minutes? But  thankfully, it is saved by wit, charm, nostalgia and older women who look better than you.

Fuck 80′s comparisons, 30 years later and Duran Duran still sound as good as ever. This is truly a “Girl Panic” borderline L Word, but much more audience-friendly despite all the Swarovski crystal product placement.

“The idea was to recreate a day-in-the-life of the band, with five of the world’s greatest supermodels playing all of us,” said keyboardisNick Rhodes.

P.S: Does someone have some rope and a bag I can capture Eva Herzigova with? We need to do genetic tests on her, see why she’s 40 and looks better than Cyrus or Lohan.
