The former Godfather’s pizza CEO and Republican presidential candidate admitted during his announcement to step away from the race that he quoted Pokémon 2000 throughout his campaign. (Once during the August 11 Republican debate)
“I believe these words came from the Pokémon movie. I’m not sure who the original author is, so don’t go write an article about the poet, but it says a lot about where I am – where I am with my wife and my family, and where we are as a nation.”
He’s actually referring to the Donna Summer song “The Power Of One,” which was the theme to that epilepsy inducing movie. I know I consider the woman who sung “Hot Stuff” and “She Works Hard For The Money” to be one of the great American poets, I just didn’t know anyone else did.
Have you guys seen Herman Cain’s version of John Lennon’s “Imagine?” It’s called “Imagine There’s No Pizza.” This is less fabricated than your pillow, and even more comforting.
