Video: Garbage – “Blood For Poppies”

Yesterday I participated in the live Garbage UStream chat and premiere of their new video, the first since “Tell Me Where It Hurts” from their best-of, Absolute Garbage.

I didn’t learn much from my music idols, but it was thrilling to see them together. The video along with tracklist announcements and tour dates confirm that all of this is real. Garbage is back.

Shirley Manson and producer/drummer extraordinaire Butch Vig said that the album, Not Your Kind Of People, is still inspired by the people that built their musical fabric – Siouxsie Sioux, Cocteau Twins Bowie and Suicide.
The band said that writing around 25 songs in four months came relatively easily and not being signed to a label helped, getting into the studio was the hard part. On this video Manson said:
“This is our first video back in five years, we made it with a very young director…this is his first piece, it’s fantastic, we had a blast making it with him and we love it and we hope you do too.”
Directed by Matt Irwin. U.S. shows are selling out, check tour dates HERE. NYKOFP drops May 14.
