What sounds like (and has to be) a completely bogus rumor has been circulating about Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.
The woman who starred in a slew of popular movies from 2000 to 2005, including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rush Hour 2, House Of Flying Daggers and Memoirs Of A Geisha has been accused of being a VERY high paid escort.
Boxon.com and the Hong Kong gossip paper Apple Daily wrote that the actress was paid over $1 million U.S. dollars a night to sleep with politician Bo Xilai.
The defamation continues with her amassing a legendary $110 million over the past five years for sleeping with various high-profile government officials.
Zhang Ziyi has asked that Apple Daily issue an apology and retraction. The law firm representing her issued a statement, calling the allegations “completely untrue” while her publicist said:
“This time, we are telling those rumor-makers that we will respond. We will prove our side of the story; we’ll seek legal justice; we’ll find you in the darkest corner and go after you.”
These kinds of stories always sound like they stem from the imagination of scorned, or non-existent but hopeful lovers.
The only upside is, they thought highly enough of her to say she was a prostitute who made millions instead of thousands or hundreds.
Zhang ziyi is one of the most beautiful asian actresses that have been on the movies. I really love that girl.
