Video: Jessie Ware – “Sweet Talk”

With the amount of rampant samples and auto-tune flying around in music, you’d probably be at least a little shocked to hear of a relatively unknown artist being denied use of a sample.

British artist Jessie Ware faced that exact dilemma with her song “110%,” which originally used the line “carving my initials on your forehead” from Big Pun’s “The Dream Shatterer.”

His answer: no. Hers (at a recent concert tin NY): “Fuck Big Pun.” The song and video for “Sweet Talk,” featuring an adorable little girl as studio Jessie, is unscathed by Pun’s frumpiness.
