Perez Hilton Says Lindsay Lohan Was ‘Over Four Hours Late’ To Work On ‘Glee’

Perez Hilton dropped by Howard Stern‘s radio show to talk about his off-Broadway play NEWSical The Musical where he brought up Lindsay Lohan, who he worked with in the season three “Nationals” episode of Glee.

Producers (and the actress who plays Coach Beiste) were so frustrated with Lohan’s beyond-casual approach to work that they refused to call her by her name, referring to her as “that girl” (as in “that girl is making us late again”).

Even after being specifically notified by director Eric Stoltz to memorize all her lines “off-book,” Lindsay still had to be repeatedly reminded. Hilton also said that an extra day of filming was added due to her behavior.

‘V/H/S’ Manages To Be Scary, Despite Not Making Sense

Like most horror fans, I was quite taken with Ti West’s The House Of The Devil, so I was naturally excited when I heard he was going to be a part of a found footage film called V/H/S, even though I’m not normally a fan of the shaky camera POV.

V/H/S, which debuted at Sundance and has no less than six directors, is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I could watch it three more times and still not know exactly what it was about. Could be devil worshippers, vampires, zombies or ghosts…

The movie focuses on a group of criminals, and at first feels like some sort of Last House On The Left-style snuff effort because of a parking lot scene where they film themselves grabbing a young woman and lifting her shirt up as they hold her boyfriend back.  Continue reading “‘V/H/S’ Manages To Be Scary, Despite Not Making Sense”

Sofia Vergara’s Ass Fell Out At The Emmys

This year’s Emmys were pretty boring. Mad Men and Girls were snubbed while Modern Family won five statues.

HBO’s Game Change, starring Julianne Moore as Sara Palin, took home four.

In dress news Claire Danes wore a bag (because she’s pregnant), and Lucy Liu wore Versace armor but the biggest, least boring thing to happen was Sofia Vergara‘s behind-the-scenes wardrobe malfunction.

“Yes!!!! This happend 20 min before we won!!!! Jajajajja. I luv my life!!!!” Vergara wrote on WhoSay with an accompanying photo of her ripped green dress, then another of an “emergency team” frantically pinning it together.  Continue reading “Sofia Vergara’s Ass Fell Out At The Emmys”

Britney Spears Says ‘It’s Really Hard For Me To Be Like Kim Kardashian’

The bitchy catfight-loving subconscious in all of us just read that quote as “It’s really hard for me to LIKE Kim Kardashian.”

Alas this is just a quote from Britney on her inner tomboy.

She can’t talk crap about Kim anyway, with her sister (Khloe) up for the X Factor hosting gig.

“I love my jeans and my sweats. I’m really just a tomboy at heart,” Spears tells Elle in the October issue.

The cover reminds me of her on Elle back in 2000 (she’s quite a regular for their foreign and U.S. editions, and yes, I used to subscribe).

She really is looking good again, just needs to work on dancing faster than an animatronic horror puppet.  Continue reading “Britney Spears Says ‘It’s Really Hard For Me To Be Like Kim Kardashian’”

Rihanna Sings Song About Chris Brown To Room Full Of… Chris Brown, At 2012 VMAs [UPDATE]

I’m watching the VMAs right now and as usual, I’ve been tricked into it.

Tricked by my own memories, memories of Rage Against The Machine, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, and slave Britney Spears with a snake, (hell I’d take post-bald Britney huffing around to “Gimme More”).

This time, Kevin Hart hosts. He’s like tiny Chris Rock, without the humor. Lackluster Hart came out surrounded by midget bodyguards, then rhymed his way through some Laffy Taffy jokes, spending more time congratulating people than insulting them.  Continue reading “Rihanna Sings Song About Chris Brown To Room Full Of… Chris Brown, At 2012 VMAs [UPDATE]”

Lana Del Rey For Vogue Australia, October 2012

Indie princess Lana Del Rey covers Vogue Australia‘s October issue. Though I have not read the whole interview, VA’s website says Lana “reveals there’s more to her than sultry videos, Americana glamour and a whole lot of hoopla.”

Who said Lana was full of hoopla besides people who got weird preconceived notions from watching Saturday Night Live and never realized her talent as a songwriter of beautifully ironic pop music (she’s currently working on a reissue of Born To Die, called Paradise). Other things learned from Vogue’s summary – she wears a mink coat as pajamas, loves spaghetti, chocolate cake, diamonds and fast cars.  Continue reading “Lana Del Rey For Vogue Australia, October 2012”

Trailer: Red Dawn

Here’s a really really simple description of the Red Dawn remake starring Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Adrianne Palicki, and Josh Hutcherson from IMDb:

“A group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of North Korean soldiers.”

Now you tell me what’s wrong with that? Maybe it’s that none of the people in this movie are teenagers, which of course isn’t an uncommon occurrence in Hollywood (see Pretty Little Liars, Glee, The O.C., and Beverly Hills 90210).  Continue reading “Trailer: Red Dawn”

The Most Beautiful Olympic Athletes Of The Year

The Dutch field hockey team at the 2012 Olympics have been unofficially named the most beautiful team in London and they’re actually good! They won a gold medal in 2008’s Beijing games and a silver in 2004 (with different players, of course).

I’m going to add more unofficially beautiful Olympians to this list but just know that I’m still bitter that Nastia Liukin isn’t there. Not because she’s “beautiful” but because I like to yell “NASTIA” out the window at the top of my lungs and it makes less sense now.  Continue reading “The Most Beautiful Olympic Athletes Of The Year”

The Best Cosplay At Comic-Con 2012

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Comic-Con San Diego goes from July 12 to 15, 2012 and as usual, it’s full of celebrities and cosplayers. One is the lowest form of escapism, one the highest. You guess.

Here we see a ton of Batman, Captain America, Thor and Star Wars costumes plus transgendered Princess Peach and more. Can’t beat that.  Continue reading “The Best Cosplay At Comic-Con 2012”

Nude Athletes That You’ve Mostly Never Heard Of, It’s The 2012 ESPN Body Issue!

This year’s batch of naked ESPN Body Issue athletes are no different than previous years. They have weird names that are either laughable (Destinee Hooker?) or impossible to pronounce (oh, another “ova” tennis player?) and they’re naked but not naked enough to get anyone lacking imagination off.

You can’t just put a basketball over your Tinie Tempah or turn your legs to the side and call yourself a magician. I know that trick.  Continue reading “Nude Athletes That You’ve Mostly Never Heard Of, It’s The 2012 ESPN Body Issue!”

Mila Kunis For Elle UK, August 2012

Mila Kunis, fresh off her box-office talking-teddybear win of $54.1 million, appears on Elle UK’s August cover in Dior. She’s making that face, you know the one. It’s like, ‘Are you looking at me? If you are, that’s okay but if you move I’ll scratch your skin off with a rusty rake.’

People claim she’s talking about her relationship with Ashton Kutcher in the interview when she says it would be impossible to date anyone.

“I’m trying to be like a normal girl and a single girl but the concept of being single in my position isn’t workable. I couldn’t go on a date if I wanted to!”

“Is a guy going to come up to me and ask if he can take me out on a date? Where can I go and have this date? I can’t go anywhere.”

Emma Stone For Vogue, July 2012

Vogue is as in love with Emma Stone as the rest of the country. She’s covering both U.S. Vogue for the first time and Teen Vogue (August) with sticky-fingered spandex-wearing Andrew Garfield.

To Vogue, singular, she talked about panic attacks, the importance of being an actress, and fashion.

Garfield, Spider-Man’s producer Matt Tolmach, and director Marc Webb also praised her repeatedly, using words like “thrilling,” “stunning,” spontaneous,” and “disarming.”

On acting:
“I’m not saving lives. But I get to tell stories, and that’s a pretty important task.”

Fashion’s effect on people:
“It makes them feel like it’s an extension of themselves.”

Charlize Theron And Kristen Stewart For Interview, June/July 2012

Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron appear in the latest issue of Interview Magazine for Snow White And The Huntsman and as usual, the photos are spectacular but the individual sit-downs with the two actresses are even better.

Even after picking and choosing answers, I’ve included less than half of the questions.

Elvis Mitchell does a brilliant job of exploring their careers and getting a very fluid and intelligent perspective into their craft and personal lives…

MITCHELL: When was the first time you remember working with a woman who you instantly connected with?
STEWART: Well, Jodie [Foster, in Panic Room]. But actually, the first person who hired me for a movie was a woman: Rose Troche, who directed The Safety of Objects [2001].  Continue reading “Charlize Theron And Kristen Stewart For Interview, June/July 2012”

Serena Williams Makes History, Loses In First Round Of French Open

Serena Williams (did you know her middle name is “Jameka?”) has never lost in the first round of a major tournament, until now.

In the past she has won no less than 13 grand slams but was beaten on Tuesday by French player Virginie Razzano, ranked 99th worldwide.

The nice sister, Venus, did better, beating her Argentinian foe Paula Ormaechea (ranked No. 120) 6-3 in the final set. Not feeling sorry for someone with Serena’s attitude comes pretty naturally to me.

More naturally than yelling at line judges and making snide, disparaging comments about her opponents in post-game interviews comes to her.

Shirley Manson For Nylon June/July 2012

Shirley Manson has been in the business of rock since the mid-80’s with Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie, then the side project Angelfish and then Garbage. Manson is hot on the promotion trail for the new album.

That trail includes appearing on the cover of Nylon Magazine, a publication best known for its emphasis on music and, if you ask me, excellent taste in celebrity cover choices.

Here are some highlights, including the real reason for the band’s hiatus…

On taking a break after Bleed Like Me: “When we first came off the road, I felt that we had worn out our welcome as a band. We had enjoyed such a zeitgeist moment with our first two records – people were excited by us – and then the music scene shifted so completely.”  Continue reading “Shirley Manson For Nylon June/July 2012”
