9/11 Memorial Features a Gift Shop Next to Human Remains, $24 Entrance Fee

9:11 memorial museum
Victim’s relatives are outraged over the museum built as a tribute to those lost during the September 11 terrorist attacks, calling it a greedy, disrespectful mess.

The museum oddly features a gift shop adjacent to 8,000 unidentified human remains. It also costs $24 to visit, along with an extra $10 bucks or so for a stuffed animal, you know, in case you wanted to get super ripped off in the process of remembering dead family members.

From ABC:

Jim Riches doesn’t plan on visiting. His son Jimmy, a firefighter, was 29 when he died in the attacks. It took more than six months to find some of Jimmy’s remains. The rest, Riches believes, are unidentified and in the repository.

“My son’s friends are going to have to pay $24 to go down and pay their respects,” Riches said. “I think that’s a disgrace. It’s the only cemetery in the world where you have to pay a fee to get in.”

Diane and Kurt Horning tells ABC News they’re appalled by what they’re calling “greed and commercialism.” They lost their son Matt Horning in the twin towers.

Emma Watson’s New Man-Meat, Johnny Simmons

Harry Potter star and England’s sweetheart, Emma Watson, has a new boyfriend! He’s that guy Chip from Jennifer’s Body oh and the guitarist kid from Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Johnny Simmons.

He’s kind of understated, and perhaps boring, at least in those movies, but maybe he’s a nice guy? He’s 24, but uhhh looks 15? So there’s that. The two lover-vultures were spotted in Santa Monica, scarfing food and sucking face. (Not in that order or at the same time? Though who knows what they’re into)

They are set to star in the movie version of the controversial novel, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, controversial to parent-teacher groups that is. Because it covers topics like gay sex, drugs, alcohol and date rape.

Ummm I read it several years ago and don’t remember finding it controversial at all? But maybe that says something scary about my nature, or maybe these book-burning cougar Republicans need to find better things to do with their time than protesting items that could help their children LEARN about real life.

Anyways, happy trails, Emma Watson. I really liked Deathly Hallows Part 2 but was that a silent film for you or what?
