Naomi Watts As Princess Di – How Many Steps Up From Lindsay As Liz Taylor?

You know what can never not be dangerous territory? …Biopics. Whether it’s André  3000 as Jimi Hendrix, Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear in The Kennedys, or Johnny Depp as multiple Rolling Stones in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

All jokes aside, it was Lindsay Lohan in Liz & Dick and not the bath salt incident in Miami that proved the existence of zombies. We’re all a little rightfully on edge…

Naomi Watts is the latest to jump into some big frickin’ shoes, those belonging to the beloved Princess Diana. Of course, Naomi is a credible actress with an Oscar nomination (21 Grams) under her belt, so we should be less on edge.

Jewel As June Carter Cash In Yet Another Lifetime Biopic

So, I’ve bombarded you with pictures of Andre 3000 as Jimmy Hendrix, Lindsay Lohan as Liz Taylor. Maybe it’s too much, but here’s something to chase the bitter image of Lindsay’s sad attempt to not be a freckled skeleton wrapped in leather right out of your head…

Jewel looking pretty and fresh as June Carter Cash in a Lifetime biopic based on the book Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash.

Last week, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was cast as Iggy Pop in the CBGB. I happen to think Jewel as June is better casting even though they don’t look that much alike. Reese Witherspoon didn’t either and still did a great job.

Lindsay Lohan Should’ve Played OLD Liz Taylor

The last movie Lindsay Lohan was in was 2010’s Machete. To put it nicely, she is rusty, in more ways than one.

There is now a photo of her in the role of a Lifetime (literally, the channel), as Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick.

To quote Pajiba, “Lindsay Lohan looks just like what you’d expect from an actress playing Liz Taylor in a LIFETIME MOVIE” a “low-rent, store-brand, ribbon-cutting ceremony impersonator that you could rent out for $20 an event.” 70% of nearly 100,000 TMZ readers agreed that the resemblance is “nonexistent.”

Outkast’s André 3000 As Jimi Hendrix

The Jimi Hendrix movie titled All Is By My Side, starring Andre Benjamin “3000” looks to be underway. Photos of him dressed in a flamboyant yellow and brown chest-baring shirt and red flares were taken last weekend on the set in Ireland.

Nobody knows if the film has approval from the Hendrix estate to use original hits like “Foxy Lady” and “Purple Haze” or if Andre will cover them himself for the soundtrack.

The John Ridley-directed biopic also stars Hayley Atwell (Captain America) and Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later).

Justin Timberlake is Elton John’s #1 Choice For Biopic

The Los Angeles Times caught up with Elton John last week where they discussed his biopic. The screenplay is already written (by Billy Elliot‘s Lee Hall) but a lead actor choice has not been finalized. When asked “Who will be you?” John replied,

“I don’t know. I’ve got a wish list of people. No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.”

I don’t know about JT in “Rocket Man” but he did play a younger Elton in this “This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore.”

John Singleton and Ice Cube’s NWA Movie

Director John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood, Shaft, Four Brothers) says he is strongly contemplating creating a biopic about the California rap group N.W.A. (Niggaz With Attitude)

The in-your-face gangster rap group were behind a movement that shook the core of the music industry, something that needed to happen, with “Fuck Tha Police” and “Straight Outta Compton.”

Ice Cube is attached as a producer, not an actor, and Singleton wouldn’t let out many details though he did say:
