An Early Peek At AnnaSophia Robb In CW’s ‘The Carrie Diaries’

A series that precedes Sex And The City called The Carrie Diaries is currently being filmed in New York. Young Carrie Bradshaw, originally thought to be played by Blake Lively, is being portrayed by 18 year-old AnnaSophia Robb.

Robb has starred in Tim Burton’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Bridge to Terabithia and Soul Surfer. She was spotted in New York on Wednesday with signature curly Carrie/SJP hair.

The young star confirms that she has Sarah Jessica Parker’s blessing, even telling Us Weekly. “She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too, she was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!”

Original SATC creator Darren Star and executive producer Michael Patrick King (currently tied up with 2 Broke Girls) are not involved. Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz however, are. You may remember them as the people who brought you Gossip Girl and The O.C.

Why Oh Why Was Angelea Booted From The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ All-Stars Finale?

Wednesday was a strange day for Tyra Banks and The CW because of a first-time event on America’s Next Top Model. One of the contestants, Angelea Preston, was disqualified in the final episode of the show. The reasons are unknown, though surely they will be revealed eventually.

All Tyra said was “We’re back in Los Angeles on the Top Model set and we’re here for a special finale that’s being conducted under unusual circumstances.” With Nigel Barker adding, “It turns out, our production team and the network learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition.”

The rumor mill is churning with speculation. But the fact is, the network did confirm that they had to shoot new scenes for the show after finding out this suspect information. It definitely has something to do with Facebook. Whispers around the net indicate that Angelea may have ben the original winner, but bragged about it on Facebook before the finale aired, causing her disqualification.

‘The Ringer’ Vs. ‘The Secret Circle’ On The CW

The CW is pumping new content into the air at a more rapid rate than redneck teeth fall into whiskey bottles.

Not only did the first episode of all-star ANTM premiere, but their two thematic efforts, The Secret Circle (witches) and The Ringer (twins) aired.

Let’s be clear, BOTH shows are travesties and great examples of bad sets, casting and dialogue BUT if you have to watch one, The Secret Circle is much much more entertaining…

The CW’s ‘Secret Circle’ Witch Show Promo

First of all, I know The Vampire Diaries is a super popular show on The CW, not to mention Supernatural, so it was only inevitable that the notoriously childlike network that so desperately wants to be taken seriously would further capitalize on that.

Now two new shows are constantly being promoted on The CW, that confusing new Sarah Michelle Gellar show, The Ringer and The Secret Circle, which is apparently about teenage witches.

Just a few things I might point out about this promo, the way they used The Kills’ “DNA,” an actual legitimately amazing songs AND the best thing of all, the quote towards the end,

“You’re a witch, we all are.”
