Trailer: Halo 4 (Produced By David Fincher)

In the tradition of Call of Duty and Skyrim, 343 Industries have released a new promo for Halo 4 that mixes live action with typical computer animation.

Produced by David Fincher (Fight Club, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and directed by GWTDT title sequence co-creator Tim Miller, the “Scanned” trailer tells Master Chief’s origin story.  Continue reading “Trailer: Halo 4 (Produced By David Fincher)”

Rooney’s Lisbeth Salander Is A Girl Who Plays With Uncertainty

Fans of the American remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo directed by David Fincher and starring a wonderfully transformed Rooney Mara who are expecting a sequel may be out of luck.

On its generous budget of $100 million (the equally great Swedish version cost $13 million and brought in over $100 million), GWTDT suffered a modest loss, according to MGM.

Fincher’s comments in December of 2011 where he pretty much shot down the idea of contributing to what would be a second installment, The Girl Who Played With Fire, felt like an added setback. Continue reading “Rooney’s Lisbeth Salander Is A Girl Who Plays With Uncertainty”

David Fincher And Charlize Theron Got F’ed In The A

I know I talk about David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo way too much, but it was basically my favorite movie of 2012 next to Young Adult. Coincidentally, both movies got fucked by the Oscars.

Theron for her spot-on portrayal of a painfully realistic woman with the maturity level of a five month-old Rottweiler.

The character, written by a subsequently more grown up Diablo Cody was passed over in every way. No best actress or picture. In other disappointing Young Adult/Academy Award news, if Jonah Hill deserves a supporting actror nom for Moneyball than Patton Oswalt should get one as well.
