Lady Gaga Will Make Acting Debut In ‘Machete Kills’ (If Lindsay Can Do It, So Can She)

Lady Gaga will make her acting debut in the sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s 2010 grindhouse masterpiece, Machete as “La Chameleón.” It is what I consider a perfect movie for any emerging actress to debut in. In fact, it seems especially fitting for her…

Like its predecessorMachete Kills will be all about the kitschy theatricality.

Theatricality, something Gaga knows a lot about (see the videos for “Paparazzi,” and “Telephone”). On Wednesday the superstar mother of non-dragon monsters Tweeted:

“Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”

The movie, due 2013, reportedly co-stars Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, and Vanessa Hudgens. Lindsay Lohan, who had a topless supporting role in the original, is not returning.

Punk’d Is Back, Minus The Excitement

In other semi Ashton Kutcher-related news Punk’d is back after a five year absence and it’s boring as hell. I don’t know why they use the expression, “boring as hell,” the harps and clouds description of heaven seems a little tamer and possibly snoozeworthy.

Back on topic, Kutcher is still attached as a producer but its co-creator Jason Goldberg was actually in Thursday’s episode. Justin Bieber was the guest pranker, pulling the wool over Taylor Swift, Miley Cryus, Rob Dyrdek and Sean Kingston’s eyes.

The most memorable but still uninteresting trick was when Taylor Swift was made to think she’d lit a boat on fire. The Bieb’s got his evil wish to see her I-just-won-a-Grammy face and make her cry.

‘X-Factor’ Is NOT Bigger Than ‘American Idol’

Judges L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell’s X-Factor debuted in America on Wednesday, September 21st, after endless promotional hype and the phenomenal pairing and reunion of him and Paula Abdul’s “Opposites Attract” chemistry.

Cowell told Rolling Stone that the show “Feels different, it feels more modern, it looks bigger, but most importantly it’s just got a
different voice to ‘Idol…'”

Travis Barker Gets A Little Help From Twista, Lil’ Jon and Busta Rhymes On “Let’s Go”

That tattoo hoarding stick-figure drummer for Blink 182, Travis Barker, enlisted the help of Twista, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Jon AND fellow skinny white boy, Yelawolf, for his latest single off his very first solo album, Give The Drummer Some.

If you think this video is star-studded, look at the guest list for the CD as a whole, it includes EVERY rap star (not to mention a few rock heavyweights) you can imagine besides Kanye and Jay-Z…

The Vaccines – What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? Album Review

Brand new onto the indie rock scene, The Vaccines, a four-piece hailing from London, debuted their very first album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? on March 14th. A 33 minute long musical tapestry sure to land them on many prestigious top band lists of 2011. The Vaccines might be this year’s Phoenix, but they possess a less tightly wound style and it’s not hard to tell that their CD was recorded in only two weeks.

What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? Has a rough-around-the-edges punk quality, as if there was a large hole in the recording studio wall and a small fraction of the music drifted outside. Of course you can be sure this is not the case, sounds like this are largely intentional and wonderful.

Sinead O’Connor Looks Like Harry Potter’s Fat Cousin

Sinead O’Connor, is a respected artist right? Her cover of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” was the wispy, teary-eyed anthem of 1990 and beyond. It was also a number one on the US Hot 100 Chart, and Connor herself gained notoriety in 1992 by tearing and burning a picture of the pope during a performance of her song “War,” on Saturday Night Live. She was also the hip, sensitive, bald activist/extremist 90’s singer version of Natalie Portman.

So explain this new look to me, which the Irish singer debuted while she was singing backup for former Bob Marley keyboardist Natty Wailer and Celtic folk singer Damien Dempsey at Bray Summerfest 2011.

The festival takes place south of Dublin, Ireland, and Connor took the stage to support Dempsey and Wailer on August 7th, where she showed of her business lady jacket, mullet-bowl haircut, glasses, multiple-chin, giant hip-hop cross, sheer belly-net and black camel-ball pants.

She’s 44, but really really looks like a rebellious little boy chanting scripture from the Torah at his Bar Mitzvah, attempting to piss off his parents with leftover prop jewelry from a Madonna video.

It’s been seven hours and fifteen days
since you took your wand away
I go out every night drinking butterbeer all day
since you took your wand away
since you’ve been gone I hear Moaning Myrtle’s haunts
I can see Snape if I choose
I can eat dinner at Hogsmead restaurants
but nothing can take away this news
cause nothing compares to
nothing compares to you (Hermione)

[Sung by Irish sensation Harry Potter Connor Jr.]
