Lena Dunham Defends White ‘Girls’

Lena Dunham has come to the defense of the show she created, writes, directs and stars in. HBO’s Girls (produced by Judd Apatow) has come under fire for being only about white women who don’t have to work.

These “rich white girl” complaints are easy to dismiss. I honestly couldn’t care less about diversity because so many shows with a variety of skin tones seem to have cast that way to avoid criticisms of this very nature. And who exactly is concerned about this? I’m guessing white women and men who caught half an episode or less. Was Friends diverse? Sex And The City? The Cosby ShowEntourage? Seinfeld? God no.

Gimme an ice pick to the eye every time I hear someone making a hullabaloo over Lena Dunham unless it’s because she’s original, funny and not afraid to “go there.”  Continue reading “Lena Dunham Defends White ‘Girls’”

Chris O’Dowd Defends Megan Fox

Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids, Friends With Kids) came to the defense of Megan Fox about three years too late, but A for effort.

In 2009 Fox infamously called Transformers director Michael Bay “awkward,” “Hitler,” “Napoleon” and “a nightmare.”

She was fired, supposedly by Steven Spielberg. Lord knows Michael Bay was too obsessed with her to do it himself.

He is, after all, the one who hand selected Fox for Transformers based on nothing more than her role as an uncredited extra in Bad Boys II.

Anyway, her This Is 40/Friends With Kids co-star told the Toronto Sun that he also hates Michael Bay and would never want to work with him. “I don’t know the ins and outs of it but it’s all down to having a fallout with Michael Bay, but who wouldn’t have a fallout with him?”  Continue reading “Chris O’Dowd Defends Megan Fox”

New Superman AND Catwoman Costumes Revealed!

Costumes have recently been revealed for the two biggest upcoming comic book movie releases, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (due Summer 2012) and Zach Snyder’s remake of Superman, Man Of Steel, due out in 2013.

The changes to the Superman suit are very subtle or non-existant. The only real difference is the lack of signature curly-q hair string.

The true shocker comes from the new Catwoman outfit, which is too complicated and space-agey for its own good(=bad), if you ask me and anyone else. But there is SOMEONE coming to the outfit’s defense, Anne Hathaway herself, who said,

“What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do. And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”
