Keira Knightley WEDDING DETAILS: Tents, Chanel, And An Old Renault

Keira Knightley wedding dressKeira Knightley got married today to her keyboardist husband James Righton (as in, “Right on James, you married the British version of Natalie Portman”) in the South of France. This is a big deal to me because I have tricked myself into thinking I discovered Keira when she was in Bend It Like Beckham. All I remember saying in 2002 besides “Kill me, I’m still in high school” had to do with that movie.

Blah blah blah soccer movie. David Beckham. India. Girl with short hair. Guru Nanak.

In 2003 I switched to “Did you see that girl from Bend It Like Beckham in Pirates of the Caribbean yet???”

Blah blah blah Johnny Depp. Rum. Elizabeth Swann. CLICK for gifs and stuff about her dress…

Kim Gordon Divorced Thurston Moore Because He Had An Affair

Kim and ThurstonKim Gordon recently opened up about the details of her divorce, telling Elle that her husband, fellow Sonic Youth singer Thurston Moore, was leading a “double life” with another woman.

Gordon, who announced the split from Moore in late 2011, said the affair was continuos, and that her husband refused to severe ties even after she found out.

Following confrontation over a suspicious text message, they entered couples counseling as a last-ditch effort. Here’s an excerpt from the very candid and painful-to-read story, by Lizzy Goodman:

Some years ago, a woman Gordon declines to name became a part of the Sonic Youth world, first as the girlfriend of an erstwhile band member and later as a partner on a literary project with Moore. Continue reading “Kim Gordon Divorced Thurston Moore Because He Had An Affair”

New Gosnell Case Details: Doctor Under Investigation For Performing Gruesome Third Trimester Abortions

dr. kermit gosnellThe grand jury report in the case of Dr. Kermit B. Gosnell – charged with the murder of seven infants and one mother at his clinic in Philadelphia – is truly the most horrific thing I have ever read.

According to the report, Gosnell, now 72, and his unlicensed staff performed “hundreds” of procedures on women who were in their final trimester of pregnancy. (The majority of these murders cannot be prosecuted because the files were destroyed.) The process he called “snipping” and “ensuring fetal demise” involved cutting a baby’s spinal cord with scissors.

One intern who worked at the Women’s Medical Society when she was just 15 testified on Thursday that she heard the newborns “screeching” and could see them breathing before they were killed.

Kathy Bates Signed Onto Salem Witch Trial-Themed Season of ‘American Horror Story’

Kathy Bates Jessica LangeKathy Bates has been added to the cast of FX’s upcoming season of American Horror Story which will relate to the Salem witch trials, according to Dylan McDermott.

“She really is [perfect]. All the witches of Salem…there’s plenty of them,” season one veteran McDermott told E!

Piecing this together with what creator Ryan Murphy told Collider in January, we can assume season three DOES NOT actually take place between 1692 and 1693, when the trials occurred. Murphy called it a “modern-day story” that would require “research of the different time periods” with a “female power” theme. He also said that it will take place in several cities (Danvers, Ipswich and Andover, Massachusetts?).

Michael Phelps May Be Suffering From Manorexia

World champion stroker of breasts and ripper of bongs Michael Phelps told Details magazine that he gained 25 pounds after the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

“I wasn’t motivated. I did nothing, literally nothing, for a long time. I gained 25 pounds. A friend of mine and I were playing football on the beach in Miami, and somebody got a picture of us and put it all over the place. And he’s like, ‘Bro, you gotta start working out, man. You are fat.’”

Here’s a picture from the day he’s talking about. If that’s a fat man, we’re in less trouble than I thought we were. There are a lot of really in shape people in America.

He says Stallone’s Rocky II reminded him of his trials and tribulations as an obese lad trying to get back in shape.  Continue reading “Michael Phelps May Be Suffering From Manorexia”

Metric’s New ‘Synthetica’ Album Will Be About Everything

Besides revealing the title, the simplistic but potentially epic “Synthetica,” which seems like it could have been their last album’s title, frontlady Emily Haines has written more about the CD’s content on the band’s website.

They’ve included a countdown to its release date on June 11 (it is their fifth album and first since 2009) plus a vague but somehow detailed description on the best kind of depravities.

Emily Haines Reveals New Metric Album Details

Emily Haines of the massive indie/rock band Metric revealed to Spin Magazine’s Peter Gaston that they already have 13 songs ready to mix for their upcoming fifth CD, a follow-up to their massive 2009 hit Fantasies, which had them playing arena shows and rolling in the success of songs like “Help I’m Alive” and “Gold Guns Girls.”

The enormity of their fifth effort earned them an offer to pen a track for the Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack with Howard Shore – a very brave and questionable career move. The type that might cause skeptical fans to throw “sell out” digs their way…

Lady Gaga Really is A Man (For Her “You & I” Single)

Apparently I’m out of the loop. Lady Gaga has had a male alter-ego since September of last year, whom she calls “Jo Calderone.” Hmmm, Jo looks a lot like Al Pacino.

Lady Balls Balls tweeted the cover art for the “You & I” single cover art featuring the pop star in a very convincing drag getup. I saw it the other day briefly and wondered if it was Gaga’s new boyfriend or some artistic male inspiration of hers. Who knew.

It was revealed that the video for “You & I” will be released as Lady Gaga’s 1000th tweet, and she’s currently on 992, so it seems like that will probably be in a few weeks, who knows how long or short she wants to play that game for.
