Courtney Love on Howard Stern Highlights 5/30/13

Courtney Love Howard Stern 2013Regular Stern Show guest Courtney Love is one of Howard’s most fascinating interviews because she’s one of the last completely candid survivors of the grunge movement. She’s such an endless resource of drug and sex-related stories that transcribing nearly an hour of her comments on everything from money to her Sylvia Plath moment with Ted Nugent’s penis turkey neck didn’t bore me in the least.

The curse of the Nirvana money: “The Kurt money, the Nirvana money it’s like… the Nirvana money… and it’s being managed by other people and I just consider it cursed. So I prefer to make money that’s ‘the Courtney money.’

Krist and Dave’s share: “They own one half. The Nirvana LLC, which is t-shirts … Frances has 40% of the publishing money. Then I sold 25% and I had a really, really lousy lawyer. I don’t have to say his name so I don’t have to say ‘alleged.’ He was a f*ck. Lawyers tend to be f*cks, especially in L.A.”  Continue reading “Courtney Love on Howard Stern Highlights 5/30/13”

A List of Self-Absorbed Tweets by Kendall Jenner’s New Nemesis, Frances Bean Cobain

Frances Bean Kendall JennerFrances Bean, daughter of music legends Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain, started an online feud with Kendall Jenner, daughter of Kris and Bruce Jenner, over fame and over-sharing on Twitter.

After 17-year-old Kendall tweeted “just wish things could be easier sometimes,” Frances, 20, responded directly by reminding her that she shouldn’t complain because some people don’t have clean water, good health, or a roof over their head. She also called her a “f*cking idiot” and said “humans are so self involved.”

Somebody takes after their mom/spends wayyyy too much time on Twitter. Overreact much?

Jenner recently responded to Cobain’s messages in a fairly courteous way, writing, “an individuals feelings are relative to their environment. you don’t know me, you don’t even know what i was referring to.” And later:

“i am aware that i am very privileged and blessed, and im thankful for that everyday, i know there are greater problems in the world. i pray for those people every night and give back as much as i can. so who are u to judge me?”  Continue reading “A List of Self-Absorbed Tweets by Kendall Jenner’s New Nemesis, Frances Bean Cobain”

Hole Momentarily Reunites After Crazy Courtney Twitter Rant

During a special performance that followed a screening of the movie Hit So Hard (chronicling the life of Hole drummer Patty Schemel) Courtney Love joined Schemel, bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur and guitarist Eric Erlandson to sing “Miss World” and “Over The Edge.”

It was their first time (not Hole, but these particular members) playing together in thirteen years. This happened in Brooklyn at Public Assembly not long after an unusual amount of Courtney Love drama.

Her daughter announced in a statement that Love should be banned from Twitter because of an awkward string of messages involving concern over Frances Bean possibly having sex with Dave Grohl…

Frances Bean Cobain is 19 Today, Poses For Rocky Schenck

Frances Cobain is famous for being a hermit or let’s say, she’s a normal person, to word it differently. She is not known for crazy celebrity antics or photo shoots or red carpet premieres.

She did, however, appear on Heidi Slimane’s website a few weeks ago, in some potentially iconic stills.

Apparently, she chooses her photo shoots and photographers quite meticulously. New photos of Frances have surfaced, this time they are by Rocky Schenck, esteemed music video director (Adele, Joni Mitchell, Alice In Chains) and photog.

Would Kurt Cobain Be Proud of Frances Bean? …Probably

New photos of Frances Bean Cobain, the result of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s “Evian water/battery acid” relationship, as he called it, have surfaced. The photos come from Heidi Slimane’s “diary.” She’s looking quite, trashy chic? I guess they’d call it. She reminds me of Asia Argento, actually, in these photos.

I know we were all wondering what would happen to this girl after her father died and she was left with that bag of eccentricity, Courtney Love, who I happen to be a big fan of musically, and for comedy’s sake, and toughness. But the country was skeptical of Frances’ fate and what impact her father’s death would have on her, regardless of his or Courtney’s celebrity stigma.

Here she is though, Frances Bean Cobain, the goddaughter of both Drew Barrymore and Michael Stipe… a stunning combination of well, mostly Courtney, but there’s a little of the Cobain vulnerability shining through.
