Let me remind you that at one time, Joan was the only one who did red carpet commentary. She is also the the inventor of “Who are you wearing?”, not to mention a very accomplished comedian, writer, actress and co-host. Continue reading “Oscars ‘In Memoriam’ List DID NOT Include Joan Rivers”
It’s been two days since Joan Rivers passed away at the age of 81 after complications during surgery. After a week of crossing our fingers hoping that Joan might pull through, daughter and noted business partner, Melissa Rivers, was faced with the decision of taking her off life support.
A multitude of celebrities have shared an outpouring of supportive messages and stories about Joan, like Giuliana Rancic, who called her “The funniest woman” ever, adding that “She could put a smile on your face, instantly, no matter how hard your day was.”
So true, what better way to escape reality than listen to Joan Rivers insult people? I’m not being facetious, insult comedy is the best comedy. Anyone who says otherwise is Bill Cosby. And, not only was she a comedian, but an actress (who could forget her as the voice of the cockblocking robot Dot Matrix in Spaceballs?), an author and a Late Night host.
Joan was the female, television-version of Howard Stern, versatile as f*ck and completely unafraid to speak her mind and ask real questions. (A quality that almost got her blackballed from Hollywood.) I saw the most of Joan on E!’s Fashion Police, as a sanctioned truth-teller and critic of all things offensive to the eyes. Kelly Osbourne was rushed to the hospital today after suffering her first seizure on the set of E!’s Fashion Police in front of a full audience plus co-hosts Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers and George Kotsiopoulos.
Osbourne reportedly said “I don’t feel good” before she fell out of her chair and began convulsing. She “came around” shortly after and was taken away on a stretcher by emergency responders as a precaution, according to TMZ.
Upon being asked about Kelly’s condition, Joan Rivers said “She is fine. We just saw her.”
Almost nothing irks me more than celebrity apologies. There’s nothing less genuine and more weak than saying you’re sorry for something you meant to do or say. If any one profession is immune to the pressure of releasing cowardly statements through their frantic PR people, it’s comedians.
The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens.
Oh no! It’s not like the very funny, very Jewish Joan doesn’t make jokes like this every week. Her favorite topics include WWII, tampons, plastic surgery and obesity… Continue reading “You’re Ridiculous For Thinking Joan Rivers Would Ever Apologize For Anything”
Gaga responded to Osbourne telling the press that Little Monsters told her to kill herself and that they hope she gets raped in a lengthy online message that read:
“I have empathy for you Kelly, but I feel it culturally important to note that you have chosen a less compassionate path.”
This is in reference to Fashion Police, the show in which Joan Rivers wittily compares women’s dresses to tampons, which Gaga says is “rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.” Continue reading “Lady Gaga and Little Monsters Vs. Kelly and Sharon Osbourne (…and Joan Rivers)”
Some people get tattoos of fairies, butterflies and stars, while others go with hearts with the word “mom” in them. Rob Kardashian took it one step further in August when he got one of his famous mother, Kris Jenner.
Rob, who has a large sketch of his dad on his right arm, visited Fashion Police on Dec. 21 and was asked about his ever-expanding collection of ink by Joan Rivers.
“I put my mom, which is weird, on my right arm, which is my masturbating arm,” he told Rivers.
I would say he stepped off the ledge of what could be considered “appropriate” by society if he weren’t a Kardashian and therefore incapable of invoking surprise with incest-y jokes.
Both women visited the Howard Stern Show last week, Handler on Monday January 23 and Rivers the following day.
When Howard asked Chelsea about Joan’s previous criticism towards her she responded, “Joan Rivers? I mean, what the fuck do I care about Joan Rivers?…I saw Joan Rivers the other day at E! and she said hi, her and that daughter…I don’t not like her but I don’t think about either one of them ever.”
