Angel Haze is WAY More Than Friends With Ireland Baldwin, Get it Right

Angel Haze girlfriend An interview with the Independent more than indicates that lady rapper Angel Haze is really really tired of the media confusing her romance with Ireland Baldwin for a run-of-the-mill friendship.

Haze, who met Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger’s 18-year-old daughter at New York Fashion Week months ago and has been sharing adorable couple-y photos on Instagram ever since, said “I don’t know if there’s like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like we’re just friends hanging out.”

She called it “funny” but added that it also “sucks,” continuing on with a slightly explicit rant about how “friends don’t f*ck” and to STFU because they definitely do, all the time.

‘Faking It’ Recap: Three To Tango

Faking it threesome episode
This year, MTV birthed a very decent show in the vein of Awkward called Faking It about a teenage girl who realizes she’s falling for her best friend after they decide to pretend to be lesbians in order to stand out at their ultra-liberal high school in Austin, Texas.

Struggling with sexual identity may not necessarily be a relatable theme, but having feelings for someone you can’t have is, and that’s what makes the show special.

In the sixth episode of Faking It, Amy (Rita Volk, the potentially gay one) reluctantly agrees to have a threesome at the request of Karma (American Idol contestant Katie Stevens, the straight friend), who desperately wants to lose her virginity to the “hot guy” character, who, like all heartthrobs on TV, is constantly referred to by his first and last name.

As expected, the unsure-ness of what’s to come gets to all three parties, and begins with awkward silences and glances back and forth…   Continue reading “‘Faking It’ Recap: Three To Tango”

‘Lip Service’ Is L Word UK, But Without All The Man-Hating

Fans of Showtime’s now-defunct The L Word (and there are many, gay and straight) would do well to check out BBC Three’s Lip Service which focuses on the lives of three lesbians in Scotland.

Like The L Word, it centers mainly around the romantic and business aspects of these women.

Unlike The L Word, the main characters actually have male friends who, instead of being demonized versions of the gender, are as equally flawed as their female counterparts.  Continue reading “‘Lip Service’ Is L Word UK, But Without All The Man-Hating”

A Million Moms Vs. The Urban Outfitters Catalog

Urban Outfitters has come under fire by a group that would be completely irrelevant if we (me included) could stop helping them enter the spotlight.

I’m talking about One Million Moms, who have in the past rallied over use of the word “bitch” in the ABC show reviewed below, “pornography” in The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and Ellen DeGeneres appearing in JC Penney ads.

Lately they’re upset over two women kissing in the latest Urban Outfitters catalog. A message on their websites reads:

“WARNING! The April 2012 catalog from Urban Outfitters has begun arriving in home mailboxes the last couple of days. On page two of this catalog is a picture of two women kissing in a face holding embrace!  Continue reading “A Million Moms Vs. The Urban Outfitters Catalog”
