Marijuana Legalized In Colorado and Washington, Marriage Equality For Maine and Maryland!

Today was a good day for Democrats. Colorado, Washington, Maine and Maryland made history for their yes votes on marriage equality measures and marijuana legalization, oh, and that Obama guy won.

In spite of Colorado and Washington’s recreational marijuana use laws (Initiative 502 and Amendment 64) passing, the states still have a way to go in terms of actual results, so don’t take your pipe on a walk just yet.

Huffington Post and other websites report that it could take months, possibly even a year, for 21-and-overs to legally buy pot.

Football Jerseys – The New ‘Fashion’ Extreme?

NY Times and others are reporting on the the shameless way that college football teams vie for media attention by wearing bizarre jerseys, each team trying to outdo the next. The controversy was sparked by Maryland’s “two-face” Jerseys. (Above)

There’s actually en entire job dedicated to analyzing jerseys, for ESPN? Paul Lukas a “uniform reporter” says that the new designs are much more about “making costumes for superheroes” than for athletes, calling them “foolish” and “desperate…”

I Spy A Chupacabra, In Maryland

Hospital employees at Prince George Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland, have been spotting an unidentified creature in the wooded area near their work since early June of 2011, but only recently have they been able to capture the animal on video. They’ve adopted it as their mascot, lovingly him/her Prince Chupa.

So what is a Chupacabra, you might ask? Well I’ve been poking around the internet and have found that it is basically the latino community’s version of bigfoot, an unknown creature that is inherently evil and drinks the blood of goats. Its mythology is varied. Some people describe it as an alien/dinosaur/vampire while others say it is a panther with a snake’s tongue. Biologists wave these theories off, simply calling the sighted Chupacabras “Coyotes with scabies.”

One employee at Prince George Hospital, Joe Livermore, describes the newfound creature as a “A kangaroo, dog, rat mixed,” adding, “It’s got a rat tail and a head like a deer. I don’t know what it is.”
