Jennifer Lawrence For W, October 2012

Jennifer Lawrence looks ethereal in W Magazine’s October issue. The editorial is avian-themed, featuring The Hunger Games star holding and posing next to various birds, including a flamingo and a white peacock. Inside the magazine, she talks candidly about her career.

Disliking the L.A. lifestyle: “Sadly, I cannot live in Los Angeles anymore. I don’t understand how actors can do it. You have no life here. You are followed everywhere. It’s not like that anywhere else in the world. I don’t want to stay in L.A. and start thinking that’s reality – because it’s very far from normal.”

Getting naked and blue in X-Men: First Class: “There was a moment where I thought I was going to have to paint my face and Skype with the director, and I said no. The first test where they painted me blue took around eight hours of makeup. I would stand, lean, or sit on a bicycle seat naked while they painted me. I have no modesty left after X-Men – I had blue in places I didn’t even know existed.”  Continue reading “Jennifer Lawrence For W, October 2012”

Britney Spears Says ‘It’s Really Hard For Me To Be Like Kim Kardashian’

The bitchy catfight-loving subconscious in all of us just read that quote as “It’s really hard for me to LIKE Kim Kardashian.”

Alas this is just a quote from Britney on her inner tomboy.

She can’t talk crap about Kim anyway, with her sister (Khloe) up for the X Factor hosting gig.

“I love my jeans and my sweats. I’m really just a tomboy at heart,” Spears tells Elle in the October issue.

The cover reminds me of her on Elle back in 2000 (she’s quite a regular for their foreign and U.S. editions, and yes, I used to subscribe).

She really is looking good again, just needs to work on dancing faster than an animatronic horror puppet.  Continue reading “Britney Spears Says ‘It’s Really Hard For Me To Be Like Kim Kardashian’”

Lana Del Rey For Vogue Australia, October 2012

Indie princess Lana Del Rey covers Vogue Australia‘s October issue. Though I have not read the whole interview, VA’s website says Lana “reveals there’s more to her than sultry videos, Americana glamour and a whole lot of hoopla.”

Who said Lana was full of hoopla besides people who got weird preconceived notions from watching Saturday Night Live and never realized her talent as a songwriter of beautifully ironic pop music (she’s currently working on a reissue of Born To Die, called Paradise). Other things learned from Vogue’s summary – she wears a mink coat as pajamas, loves spaghetti, chocolate cake, diamonds and fast cars.  Continue reading “Lana Del Rey For Vogue Australia, October 2012”

Milla Jovovich: Being Saintly And Posing For S Moda

Milla’s getting ready for the release of Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth installment of the zombie franchise. After a platform collapsed and injured 16 extras in Toronto while working on the film, Milla personally visited one of them in the hospital.

She wrote on her Twitter“just saw akiko (who goes by April btw) and she’s in a lot of pain. She injured her back. Thank god she’s moving her hands and feet and not in critical condition. She’s a piano player. Her brother plays the violin. Continue reading “Milla Jovovich: Being Saintly And Posing For S Moda”

Miley Cyrus Looks Like a 12 Year-Old Mannequin In Prestige Magazine

Actually, on the cover, Miley looks like a microscopic 12 year-old Jennifer Aniston replica circa Friends, 2001.

Inside the issue she looks just a generic toddler who fell head-first into a cloud of makeup.

Not surprising since we know Asia, the magazine’s home country, is not only youth-obsessed, but aesthetically young as well.

For the October issue, the sixth anniversary of Prestige, Ms. Cyrus discussed her confusion. All 10,0000 pounds of it.

Or confused about how to NOT pose in the exact same thing that other high profile divas already rocked weeks earlier in Harper’s Bazaar. (Ahem, BEYONCE)…

‘Jennifer’s Body’ Is Amanda Seyfried’s Favorite

In her shared October cover and spread in W Magazine with Justin Timberlake, to promote their film In Time (Gattaca meets Twilight Zone meets The Adjustment Bureau) Amanda Seyfried explained that her favorite movie that she ever worked on is Jennifer’s Body.

I’m glad she’s still talking about this cause Jennifer’s Body WAS horribly marketed, though her quote tends to contradict the purpose of the movie. Director/writer Diablo Cody always explained the Fox/Seyfried make-out scene as “scary” and not meant to create boners. (I think that’s impossible)

Here’s what Amanda S. had to say about the 2009 film,

“Jennifer’s Body is my favorite movie that I’ve done. It was overlooked in theaters, but it does have a DVD following. I can’t believe nobody wanted to see Megan Fox and me hitting it.”

Michelle Williams, Monroe-Esque For Vogue

Michelle Williams, of Dawson’s Creek and Brokeback Mountain fame, appears in the October 2011 issue of Vogue Magazine channeling Marilyn Monroe.

She talks about her new movie, My Week With Marilyn (also starring Emma Watson) and even the loss of Heath Ledger who fathered her daughter Matilda Rose Ledger.

Williams describes having to wear foam padding to replicate Monroe’s curvaceous body,

“I do remember one moment of being all suited up as Monroe and walking from my dressing room onto the soundstage practicing my ‘wiggle…'”

Dear Britney: Remix Albums Are Useless

Britney Spears‘ second remix album is due for release on October 11, 2011. It features remixes from Femme Fatale, Circus and Blackout. (All the albums since she went crazy)

She announced the remix effort titled B In The Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 on her Twitter page yesterday

Let me just remind you that remix albums never sell well and remixes in general feel like an admittance of previous wrongdoing.

ALSO the “Till The World Ends” remix featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha is missing? Shame. That one was actually genius.

GQ’s Men Of The Year

Yesterday marked the annual Men Of The Year ceremony where GQ Magazine unveiled their (mostly) testosterone-driven covers for October.

I have no clue why they choose to announce one woman of the year?  Why pick the aging Dutch model Lara Stone? (And by aging I mean she’s older than me, which is older than the pyramids in that industry)…
