‘Vlad Dracula’ Series Coming To Starz

So we have True Blood, Twilight, The Walking Dead, and Vampire Diaries but that’s not enough right? We need more shows focusing on the undead, and Starz knows it.

With the help of  writer J. Michael Straczynski (Thor, Changeling, He-Man), and horror/action producers Rob Tapert (The Evil Dead, American Gothic) and Roy Lee (The Strangers, The Ring) they are developing Vlad Dracula. 

The show will focus on Dracula’s age-old struggle, one faced by Pattinson’s Edward Cullen and Brad Pitt’s Louis of Interview With The Vampire – to eat piles and piles of humans, or not.  Continue reading “‘Vlad Dracula’ Series Coming To Starz”

Spartacus Star Andy Whitfield (July 17, 1972 – September 11, 2011)

Andy Whitfield, 39, a fairly unknown actor before being cast on the hit Starz show Spartacus: Blood And Sandpassed away yesterday morning in Sydney, Australia.

The athletic Wales-native left the show for a hiatus after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, while the creators worked on a brief prequel to Blood And Sand called Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena, focusing on some of the core characters, sans Whitfield.

Whitfield would have come back for a second full season if he hadn’t received the terrible news in March of 2010 that his cancer had reappeared. Netflix, Sucking More By The Hour

After a surprising price increase for DVD and streaming services (from $8.99 to $15.98) and their stock dropping rapidly, more bad news from the company has come up.

Starz has decided to separate from Netflix and because of Starz’ affiliation with Disney and Sony, this will cause around 1,000 out of Netflix’s 22,000 movies to disappear.

That includes shows like Spartacus, Party Down and Torchwood, not to mention countless movies.

This will go into effect in February 28, 2012…
