Civil Rights Figure Rodney King Drowns At His Home (April 2, 1965 – June 17, 2012)

Rodney King was not influential in the early 90’s for speaking out against the LAPD or rioting. He did however, incite riots after a bystander videotaped him taking a vicious beating by the police.

Some might say that he was a sacrificial lamb, that the brutality he endured was in some way necessary because it really showed how differently African Americans were being treated at that time.

No one should have to suffer that kind of abuse just to prove a point. King’s “fame” came at a heftier price than public humiliation and broken bones.  Continue reading “Civil Rights Figure Rodney King Drowns At His Home (April 2, 1965 – June 17, 2012)”

1 In 5 Adults Pee In The Pool (And 100% Of Children)

A survey conducted in April revealed that out of 1,000 adults questioned, one in five of them admitted to urinating in public swimming pools.

Additionally, seven out of ten said they didn’t rinse off before going in the pool.

‘Public Swimming Pool, White Only’ Sign, Decorative And Harmless? Mhm

Oh my fucking god, the world is coming to an end! And it’s not because asteroids are going to smash the earth’s surface like pizza dough or because we are going to drown in melted ice cap water and polar bear fur. It’s because it’s 2012 and some people are actually still more homophobic, sexist and racist than you can fathom.

Ignorance is not bliss, in the case of a female landlord in Cincinnati who put up a “Public Swimming Pool, White Only” sign on the gate outside her apartment complex’s swimming pool and claimed that a black girl’s hair products had made the water cloudy.
