Ronda Rousey Expresses Interest in Fighting Holly Holm After Submitting Zingano

Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey (add about a million y’s to that for a solid Bruce Buffer impersonation) told Joe Rogen in her post-fight interview that she is interested in taking on UFC newbie Holly Holm.

“Holly Holm is a world champion boxer and I always want to test myself against that level of striking,” Rousey said.

Holm, 33, showed impressive striking and kickboxing technique in her debut earlier tonight against Raquel Pennington, who lost despite having considerably more experience with big-name fighters like Cat Zingano.   Continue reading “Ronda Rousey Expresses Interest in Fighting Holly Holm After Submitting Zingano”

Miesha Tate Beats Japan’s Best For Second Win This Year

Miesha Tate rin nakai statsRonda Rousey nemesis Miesha “Cupcake” Tate flew way out West on Saturday to challenge previously undefeated fighter Rin Nakai for and closed UFC Fight Night 52 with her second unanimous win of 2014.

It wasn’t as easy of a fight as you would expect for Miesha, whose record was tarnished last year when she fought and lost to both Rousey and Cat Zingano.

At 5’1″ and 135 pounds of pure muscle, Rin Nakai is probably the most formidable women’s MMA opponent in Japan, but her much shorter reach proved too great an obstacle to overcome, with 5’6″ Tate out-grappling and out-striking her every time.

The fairly fast-paced fight went to the third round, when most expected to see an early KO or submission from the super versatile Tate, who has finished opponents with everything from armbars to head kicks. Ultimately, Nakai underestimated the woman who took Ronda Rousey to a third round, and the judges took notice. No Armbar Needed: Ronda Rousey DECIMATES Alexis Davis in 16 Seconds for Tenth Straight Win … Can Anyone Beat Her?

Ronda Rousey Alexis Davis fight gif UFC 175Ronda Rousey is a powerhouse, a beast and arguably the most exciting fighter to watch in either men or women’s MMA. She’s also so far ahead of her competition that only one of her ten fights has ever gone past the first round. Her latest bout against #2 seed Alexis Davis was surprisingly short, even for a Rousey fight. After a mere 16 seconds, she flipped a seemingly lifeless Davis on her back and popped her in the face about 7 times. The punishment she doled out was already too much for the refs to stomach, and it was over.

I’m starting to think the only way to make the fights fair is if Ronda’s opponents are on steroids, or if Ronda herself is horribly injured or plastered out of her mind. Seriously, I’d put $1000 on drunk Ronda over sober whoever on steroids. It still wouldn’t be a contest.

So far, only Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche have come even remotely close to defeating Ronda. People still think early women’s MMA trailblazer-turned actress Gina Carano could pull a win out of the bag against her, but I’m a firm believer that the only woman who stands a chance is the one who brutally defeated Carano in 2009.  Continue reading “No Armbar Needed: Ronda Rousey DECIMATES Alexis Davis in 16 Seconds for Tenth Straight Win … Can Anyone Beat Her?”

Silva Breaks Leg on Weidman in Historical UFC Bout

Silva broken leg UFC 168 just concluded with overconfident bastard Anderson Silva breaking his leg after an attempted kick on Chris Weidman in their much-anticipated rematch.

Miesha Tate also made history by taking Ronda Rousey to the third round.

Sad day for Taterade drinkers, she still lost to a vicious armbar after squirming out of several dangerous ground situations like Houdini, but with braids and a shovelface.

Back to Silva… During the second round, Silva raised his leg in an attempt to thwack Weidman, which seemed like nothing until he fell on the ground screaming and a replay showed his leg completely bending away from his ankle.

It is unlikely that Silva will ever fight again, as the recovery rate on this kind of injury is zilch point one.

Ronda Rousey Testing Acting Waters With ‘Expendables’ and ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchises

Ronda Rousey showtime fight posePowerhouse judo expert Ronda Rousey has a confirmed, reportedly NOT-small role in The Expendables 3 and another possible job in Fast and Furious 7, but has no plans to slow down her training for filming.

“I’m leaving soon, and I’m very fortunate that there’s going to be Victor Ortiz and Randy Couture and other fighter-type people there, and I’m going to be able to have my camp come and do everything, so I’m not going to break training for it at all,” Rousey told MMAjunkie.

The women’s UFC champ (7-0), scheduled to defend her title from fellow The Ultimate Fighter coach Miesha Tate in late December, joins the likes of wrestlers and MMA fighters turned-actors like “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Randy Couture, Oleg Taktarov and Gina Carano, who appeared in the prior Fast & Furious installment.

How do you think she’ll do? (It’s not her fault that both franchises are unoriginal piles of caca.)

Video: Ronda Rousey Tears Reporter a New Hole Over Inappropriate Question

Can we can agree that best-current-female-MMA-fighter Ronda Rousey is a tough ass badass no nonsense bitch? Like whether that personally translates to you as a good or bad thing, you have to recognize that she could kick your ass while making a latte and checking her Twitter and not break a sweat.

Here she is telling off a reporter for asking her how many times she bangs before a fight. It’s a variation of a question she gets asked all the time. Now, he may have asked because she has, in various interviews, described how sex is a great way to let off steam prior to a match, but that still doesn’t make it “okay.”

Overall he just sounds like a pervert who really needed to be put in his place and she was obliged to help him with that. Hey guy, you’re a far cry from Bob Costas or Bryant Gumbel. STFU.

UFC Wonderman Anderson Silva Finally Lost a Fight, Was it Fixed?

Anderson Silva knockoutSo I don’t normally watch men’s MMA matches at all and only recently started getting into women’s MMA because of Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg etc., BUT I heard about Anderson Silva losing his first fight since 2006 against Chris Weidman and that a few people thought the fight was fixed because of the way Silva went down after a few strikes to the face.

While it was weird that he hunched over after one light hit prior to the knockout and just plain stupid how much he seemed to underestimate and not respect his opponent, his eyes did “just roll back into his head,” as Dana White put it. Seems like a hard thing to fake. Maybe?  Continue reading “UFC Wonderman Anderson Silva Finally Lost a Fight, Was it Fixed?”

Charlize Theron Is A Huge UFC fan, Travelled To Turkey For An Eclipse

Prometheus/Snow White and the Huntsman actress Charlize Theron‘s sit down with Conan aired Tuesday, June 5. She told him that she is “absolutely obsessed” with MMA.

“I lose my voice, I go that nuts. I get really into it. I mean, I think it’s such an incredible sport.”

“These guys are like incredible athletes and yet at the same time I wonder what it says about me that I like sweaty, hot men bleeding all over each other.”

She also described her love for astronomy and how she travelled to a special secluded spot in Turkey to see an eclipse that was interrupted by a woman singing “What’s Up” (aka “What’s Going On”) by 4 Non Blondes.  Continue reading “Charlize Theron Is A Huge UFC fan, Travelled To Turkey For An Eclipse”
