Two 12-year-old girls stab classmate to prove loyalty to Slenderman

stabbing suspects wisconsinThe title really does say it all. 12-year-old Morgan Geyser and 12-year-old Anissa Weier stabbed a 12-year-old classmate (name has not been released) Saturday morning in Wisconsin. They stabbed the victim 19 times and left her in the woods hoping she would die.

The motive of the attackers was to become proxies of Slenderman and to prove he was real. A fictional character created by the internet. Criminal and psychological experts say they’d be surprised if investigators didn’t find evidence of psychological problems in either of them.

(Morgan Geyser long hair, Anissa Weier short hair)

On Monday the two suspect were tried as adults with attempted first degree murder. They are facing up to 60 years in prison. Anissa Weier told the police that she first heard of Slenderman on a website called creepypasta and then introduced the site to Geyser.

A little background on Slenderman, he is depicted as being unnaturally tall, with very long limbs and/or tentacles that he can adjust the length of. Slenderman blends in with trees, and usually hides in plain sight. The more you know about him, the closer he gets.  Continue reading “Two 12-year-old girls stab classmate to prove loyalty to Slenderman”

The Guy Who’s About to Win the Heisman Trophy is a Rapist

Jameis winston instagramSad truth: the 19-year-old frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy, college football’s greatest honor, is thought to have raped a woman last year. Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston allegedly assaulted a classmate he met at a bar and later took to his apartment back in December of 2012.

The case was made “inactive” due to a lack of evidence and the victim’s unwillingness to file charges, but there has been a lot of talk about Tallahassee police purposefully not pursuing the case due to Winston’s celebrity status.

The woman’s attorney released a statement revealing that local law enforcement officials refused to even interview potential witnesses, made his client out to be a drunk to the media, and threatened her by saying “her life will be made miserable” because Tallahassee is a “big football town.”

Ex-NBA Baller Scottie Pippen Kicked a Guy’s Ass

Scottie Pippen doesn't smileRetired Jordan-era Chicago Bull Scottie Pippen was thought to have been arrested on Sunday for assaulting an autograph-seeking fan in a Malibu restaurant, but he wasn’t handcuffed or charged for breaking the man’s teeth and injuring nearly every part of his body including his back, which isn’t even news. (Slow day.)

I haven’t heard anything about Pippen, who won six NBA titles with the Bulls, in forever.

If you look at the “personal” section of his Wikipedia page, there’s nothing but a yard sale from 2011 and something about his wife being on Real Housewives of Miami.

Not that he needs to assault people to become interesting. Living in a sinkhole just crouching over his rings like Gollum until Kobe falls in there and pulls a Bilbo Baggins on his ass seems like a viable option.

TMZ reports that Pippen came out of the sinkhole to have dinner with his family when an overly aggressive fan called him the n-word, spit on his daughter and shoved him.  Continue reading “Ex-NBA Baller Scottie Pippen Kicked a Guy’s Ass”

Are We Monsters For Wondering if Wade Robson Was Really One of Michael Jackson’s Victims?

Wade Robson Today ShowWhen I first heard that ‘N Sync/Britney choreographer Wade Robson was suing Michael Jackson’s estate, I thought, on the off-chance that he wasn’t an attention-seeking liar, he should have spoken up before Michael died.

I now feel kind of bad for thinking that, because, despite being cleared of charges, we know Michael Jackson molested kids just like we know O.J. killed Nicole. (Wade made sure to reminds us of that on The Today Show, where he called his alleged aggressor a “pedophile” and a “child sexual abuser.”)

We also know that Robson spent time with Michael as a child. So why wouldn’t we believe him? Is it the timing, or the fact that he denied wrongdoing and testified not against but for Michael Jackson in 2005?

Maybe a combination of both. But that’s stupid because we know that victims often come out years after abuse occurs. And you’d think the safest time would be after their abuser was dead, right?

“In order to heal, I have to speak the truth and speak the whole truth,” Robson told Matt Lauer.

If he is lying, he’s a horrible person. If he’s not, we’re all horrible people for calling him a liar.

I think he might be telling the truth. I just don’t know why telling the public and bringing Jackson’s remaining family members into it is part of the healing process. What do you think?

Rape, Praise for Rapists and Threatening Rape Victims: Anything Goes in Steubenville

Steubenville rapistsNormally it’s stories of animal abuse that disturb me to the point of actually being distracted during my daily routine, but every once in a while a news report of human tragedy like the one in Sandy Hook comes along and reminds me that I’m not incapable of sympathy.

For me, it was Amanda Todd, the Canadian teen who was blackmailed and bullied so harshly over a topless screen capture that she took her own life. (The post-mortem online bashing pushed me over the what-is-happening-to-the-world edge.)

For others, it’s the Steubenville case in which two “promising” (as CNN reminded us) high school football players were found guilty of rape and sentenced to one and two years in a detention center.

The boys, wide receiver Ma’lik Richmond and quarterback Trent Mays, bragged about their exploits using a trifecta of social media that included Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, posting photos and videos of (and relating to) the unconscious victim.

Chris Brown Threatened To Bust a Cap in Frank Ocean

Chris Brown gun takersThere’s little question that Frank Ocean was “the victim” in the Chris Brown parking lot feud. He stayed behind to talk to the police, refused to press charges and even forgave Brown in a peace-themed Tumblr post.

New details from the official police report have everyone wondering how a 25-year-old could harness such restraint and maturity.

In the report, Ocean says Brown’s entourage kicked him while he was on the ground and hurled homophobic slurs at him as he was told “We can bust on you too!” (bust as in, shoot) by Chris during their three-minute fight.

Steamy ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Winter Premiere Shows New Sides to Old Characters

Hannah Mona Pretty Little Liars The winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars aired last night and is back to its usual Scream-meets-Days-of-our-Lives tricks. Blackmail, baby mama drama, locker surprises… everyone’s a suspect, including your favorite character, whoever that might be.

In the midway point of season 3 (episode 14, “She’s Better Now”), Mona, one of the most crucial villains, has been released from the hospital and is either being made or playing the victim. (After sneaking into her old ally Hanna’s window, she says “Is this a bad time?”)
