Miley Cyrus is Blonde and Nearly Eyebrowless for W

Miley W eyebrowsMiley Cyrus fulfills the wishes of those of us who were sitting around wondering what she looks like with super Swedish blonde hair and eyebrows with her new W Magazine spread.

The Girl With The Really Bad Tattoos tells Ronan Farrow (son of Mia) that “guys try too hard” with her, explaining that she doesn’t need to go to fancy restaurants or vacations.

I mean, really, why go to Nobu or The Ivy when you could twerk on dwarves and balance malt liquor bottles on your ass in the Dollar Tree parking lot?

Here are just a few of the interview highlights and photos that made me throw up in my mouth a little…

On being an unconventional sex symbol: “I like that I’m associated with sexuality and the kind of punk-rock shit where we just don’t care. Like Madonna or Blondie or Joan Jett – Jett’s the one that I still get a little shaky around. She did what I did in such a crazier way. I mean, girls then weren’t supposed to wear leather pants and, like, fucking rock out. And she did.”  Continue reading “Miley Cyrus is Blonde and Nearly Eyebrowless for W”

Emma Watson Talks To W About ‘The Bling Ring,’ Fame and Sex Appeal

Emma Watson W 2013 Inside the June/July issue of W Magazine, Emma Watson discusses her upcoming film and her past, before and right after scoring Harry Potter. And on The Bling Ring, Watson said, in the most demure way possible, that she was actually too classy to understand why her character would want people to see her bra.

In related news, Emma told reporters at Cannes that she watched “a lot of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians and ‘The Hills,’” to understand the psychology of Nicki/Alexis Neiers. She added that she “thought a lot about what her parents must have been like.”

I find this weird because Pretty Wild (with the real-life Alexis Neiers and her mother) is on Netflix streaming.

(Maybe she’s not allowed to say that was her real point of reference for legal reasons?) The dynamic between Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian is not exactly the same. Just watch. You’ll see.  Continue reading “Emma Watson Talks To W About ‘The Bling Ring,’ Fame and Sex Appeal”

Jennifer Lawrence For W, October 2012

Jennifer Lawrence looks ethereal in W Magazine’s October issue. The editorial is avian-themed, featuring The Hunger Games star holding and posing next to various birds, including a flamingo and a white peacock. Inside the magazine, she talks candidly about her career.

Disliking the L.A. lifestyle: “Sadly, I cannot live in Los Angeles anymore. I don’t understand how actors can do it. You have no life here. You are followed everywhere. It’s not like that anywhere else in the world. I don’t want to stay in L.A. and start thinking that’s reality – because it’s very far from normal.”

Getting naked and blue in X-Men: First Class: “There was a moment where I thought I was going to have to paint my face and Skype with the director, and I said no. The first test where they painted me blue took around eight hours of makeup. I would stand, lean, or sit on a bicycle seat naked while they painted me. I have no modesty left after X-Men – I had blue in places I didn’t even know existed.”  Continue reading “Jennifer Lawrence For W, October 2012”

Kate Moss’s Take On Demon Possession

Tis the season of demon possession, which is alright with me because it means that Kate Moss and W Magazine are going all sacrilegious and demonic for their March 2012 split cover issue.

W editor Stefano Tonchi explained the concept of the light/dark covers as a classic “dichotomy between ‘good girls’ and ‘bad girls.'” The covers were shot by Steven Klein and show the 5’7″ supermodel in white Vera Wang and dark lace.

The funny thing about people being “outraged” or “scared” over this is that it reminds me of Jennifer’s Body. This shoot is hardly comedic but that movie was, and how could anyone be afraid of Megan Fox or Kate Moss?

Charlize Theron & Brad Pitt For W Magazine February 2012

Charlize Theron shares cover duty with Brad Pitt for next month’s “Best Performance” issue of W. They are both known for dramatic roles that sometimes glisten with humor, like Theron in Young Adult or Pitt in Inglourious Basterds or Moneyball. The interviews mirror that acting style, like the moment when Charlize brings up having no teeth as a child in South Africa.“For the first eight years of my life, I didn’t have front teeth. I was pretty sick as an infant, and antibiotics rotted them. But then I started to take dance classes, and I eventually got some teeth [laughs]. When I was 16, I went to Milan to model.”

Carey Mulligan, For W Magazine January 2012

You can call Natalie Portman the next Audrey Hepburn, Ryan Gosling the next quirky Brad Pitt or Lindsay Lohan the next Anna Nicole Smith but Carey Mulligan she’s, the next no one. There’s never really been one like her has there? Michelle Williams perhaps but they’re only five years apart in age.

She broke onto the scene with a starring role in An Education, made me cry over love and lost organs in Never Let Me Go, took awkwardness to a whole new level in Drive, and has two very current major roles in the in the forms of Shame (currently in limited release) and The Great Gatsby alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. She tells W Magazine that her role in Shame playing the sister of a hopeless sex addict (Michael Fassbender) was a physically easy role to play.

Nicki Minaj Sings ‘Super Bass’ With Tiny Fan, Sophia Grace

After an adorable 8 year-old Nicki Minaj fan sang “Super Bass” in a widely-viewed video on YouTube, the tiny British girl and her “hype woman” appeared on Ellen with a very special surprise.

Nicki came out, picked her up off the ground, called her a “superstar” and rapped with her before urging her to stay in school regardless of her epic talents. NM couldn’t even keep up with the pink-dress wearing, tiara-toting phenom!…

Kristen Stewart’s W Magazine Photos

Ever since I saw that atrocious horror movie The Messengers I’ve been a fan of Kristen Stewart’s, people only dislike her because of Twilight and the fact that she’s shy? What assholes.

In Stewart’s recent W Magazine spread, she’s looking vintage ummmm, help me name a 40’s actress that she resembles? Susan Hayward? Clara Bow? Elizabeth Taylor? Somebody who has their hair and eye makeup together.
