Happy Glittery Butter[fly] Birthday Mariah Carey!
Mariah Carey turned 42 today. Her first album ever, the self-titled debut that contained “Someday” and “Vision Of Love” was released 22 years ago, in 1990.
Since then we’ve seen her at her best and worst. Her pricey wedding to manager Tommy Mottola that supposedly included no less than 50 flower girls.
The millionth clue that her mental age doesn’t come close to matching her actual years on earth – the time she surprised Carson Daly on TRL, stripping and handing out ice cream to audience members.
Her fans are so dedicated that many of them took pictures of birthday cakes they made for her. MC’s voice is in the Guinness Book Of World Records as well as her stomach, legs and boobs, for least covered.
Okay, that’s a lie, but truth: ALL her album titles were pre-approved by the Care Bears except The Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC². (They didn’t really understand those)I’m happy that her career has taken a turn for the normal besides that whole having-babies-with-Nick-Cannon thing. Precious was a success though. I voted for her mustache at the People’s Choice Awards.Happy birthday Mimi, I hope you have a nice day, sitting in your butterfly arboretum and rainbow tanning chamber. You may lose your mind on occasion, but you never lose your voice.[I highly recommend you all read Rolling Stone’s list of incredible Mariah Carey performances which sadly does not include Soo-Yung from Rush Hour singing “Fantasy.”]
