Rosie O’Donnell: Tom Cruise Isn’t Gay Because He’s Into Race Cars

Listen up, people who are gay are sometimes no less likely to enable false sexuality stereotypes than anyone else, for instance: Rosie O’Donnell last night on Piers Morgan.

When discussing celebrity friends and the scrutiny surrounding their private lives and preferences, she made one of the biggest and most common mistakes…

The assumption that gay men are feminine or uninterested in typically manly activities, such as a peaked interest in the sporty aspect of the automotive industry. Here is her quote on “friend” Tom Cruise, who I also do not believe is gay, but not for this reason.

“A lot of people have said to me oh you know so and so…are they gay? I personally don’t know a star who I have come to know and become intimately friendly in my life with who is living a false reality, I don’t, I really don’t.”
“People say to me all the time ‘Tom Cruise is gay,’ I’ve been around Tom Cruise a lot. Tom Cruise drives race cars…I do not think Tom Cruise is gay.”

I guess Rosie just doesn’t know anything about the gay community because here’s her second flub, this time about her fiancé Michelle Rounds,
“I didn’t think she was gay in a million years…have you seen her? Very attractive, I didn’t know a lot of lesbians who wore high-heeled Pradas.”

Lessons learned:
1. Gay men are afraid of cars that go over 30 miles an hour.
2. Lesbians only wear flats or sneakers.
3. (Here’s a real one) Wisdom (and knowledge of homosexuality) cannot be measured by the number of neck wrinkles. If that went over your head, look at the above picture. Un dos tres.
