Dark Shadows was a TV series that ran from 1966-1971. A vampire soap opera (starring Jonathan Frid) that wasn’t quite as popular as The Munsters and The Addams Family.
Now Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are looking to revitalize the story for current audiences. Depp, who called Frid’s performance “classic” says:
“There’s something about this vampire coming back after 200 years into this modern world, with a touch of the poetic…I have a good feeling about it. But Jonathan Frid’s Barnabas was so special.”
Dark Shadows stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloë Grace Moretz, Helena Bonham Carter and Angelina Jolie’s first husband Jonny Lee Miller.
That was positively hilarious. I am not much into Tim Burton’s dark movies. But setting this in the 1970s and the humor, I actually believe this might be a runaway hit.
