Video: Regina Spektor – “All The Rowboats”

Regina Spektor is a unique cross between a thrush and a skylark. She became a piano virtuoso before she flew migrated from Russia. Spektor studied classical piano in New York and didn’t see massive success until the release of her 2006 single “Fidelity.”

Six years and no Grammys later (WHY) we get the intense “All The Rowboats” video, directed by Tom Petty’s daughter, Adria Petty. Adria has directed other videos for Spektor not to mention Duffy’s “Mercy” and Beyonce’s “Countdown.”

My best advice to Regina in this video is, please don’t drown…the world needs your bird soul/cheekbones.
[Random fact: Regina Spektor worked briefly at a butterfly farm in Wisconsin before the success of her fourth album, Begin To Hope]

  1. This reminds me of the 1980s type videos and music videos first came out. A bit surreal. I like her accent. I’m not sure I like the song. It’s one of those things I won’t see the video again.
