Lamar Odom Is No Longer A Dallas Maverick

Khloe Kardashian’s husband, the 6’10” candy-addict is no longer a Maverick, but is he also not even a [decent] basketball player anymore? Only time will tell.

Many will say it was Khloe who sucked the life out of Lamar Odom (Yoko-style) when really it was the forced trade from his beloved Los Angeles that did it.

In the words of Tony Bennett:

The loveliness of Dirk Nowitzki seems somehow sadly gay/The glory that was Jason Kidd is of another day/I’ve been terribly alone and forgotten in Dallas/I’m going home to my city in the grey.

OK, that song might be a little altered, and he really isn’t going back to L.A. yet.

Yesterday it was announced that he will be listed as inactive for the remainder of the season. This means that he could be released or traded around the time of the draft.

“The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team,” He told ESPN.

“I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization….nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”

  1. He has probably been on drugs throughout his
NBA Career. The NBA Poilcy, is a joke. The whole
league is on BLUNT. If they tested they would have
2 people per team. I GUESS Two on two street ball style.
    The NBA is a joke.

  2. Apparently, being traded to the team that beat the Heat in the 2011 championship game wasn’t enough. Athletes are sensitive, except hockey players. Oh wait, none of them want to play in Edmonton cause it’s “too cold.” WIMPS everywhere.

  3. I don’t know a lot about Basketball, but I know that he was getting paid a lot of money, you would think that he would of tried harder. I read that some of his teamates came out and said they think that he got himself traded and acted the way he did for his reality show. That is horrible for people to think that, but then again he didn’t give much of an effort.

  4. Great post, although Khloe will be unfairly blamed its truly a case of not enough minutes at the forward position and an athlete declining in ability before our very eyes. It will be an intriguing summer for ‘Mr. Kardashian’ as he possibly enters free agency or gets traded to his four franchise. Atleast I now have a reason to watch Khloe and Lamar next season, however Im sure his decision will not be a special on ESPN but on E! instead. – A.Denmark (@Eatdrnkslpsprtz)
