“A group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of North Korean soldiers.”
Now you tell me what’s wrong with that? Maybe it’s that none of the people in this movie are teenagers, which of course isn’t an uncommon occurrence in Hollywood (see Pretty Little Liars, Glee, The O.C., and Beverly Hills 90210).

The original Red Dawn starred Patrick Swayze as the lead character “Jed,” who was 32 at the time the movie was made. He beats Chris Hemsworth (also as Jed) by just three years.
Friday Night Lights’ alum Adrianne Palicki, also 29, once told Zap2it, “I’ve never played a character that was my age.”

P.S. this movie looks like roasted garbage, but I never saw the original. Any good?
That would depend on your definition of good. If Reagan era flag waving patriotic folderol about those evil commie bastards is your idea of good, then yes. It is actually laughably bad, and one of my favorite so bad it’s good movies. How can’t it be, it starts with the Russians mowing down high schoolers with automatic weapons, and rocket propelled grenades.

You’ve sold me. I do love so-bad-they’re-good movies. My favorite is Alien Resurrection. Most would not agree about the “good” part in the case of AR. But I protest. It’s very, French.
