Taylor Swift Removes Hipster Testicles With Rusty Acoustic Guitar Strings

In an interview with The Guardian Taylor Swift talks about all the things you’d expect her to talk about – fairy tales, boys, youth, and hipsters.

She tells the publication that the line “And you, will hide away and find your piece of mind with some indie record that’s much cooler than mine” from “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is inspired by a guy who despised the mainstream.

That was the most important line of the song. It was a relationship where I felt very critiqued and subpar. He’d listen to this music that nobody had heard of … but as soon as anyone else liked these bands, he’d drop them. I felt that was a strange way to be a music fan. And I couldn’t understand why he would never say anything nice about the songs I wrote or the music I made.

Okay, so the man-child who was in fact dating Taylor Swift, one of the least edgy and least undiscovered musicians of the past six years, stopped listening to music after it became popular?

“You look back and you think: I only wore black in that relationship. Or I started speaking differently. Or I started trying to act like a hipster,” she says, presumably about the same oozing douche box.

We’ve been led to believe that the song (let’s go with “WANEGBT”) is about Jake Gyllenhaal, who has voiced his love for the musical stylings of Adele, The Civil Wars and Bruce Springsteen.

This is the part where you shake the Magic-8 Ball and it says “Reply hazy, try again.”

See Katy Perry’s “Ur So Gay” for a more specific pop representation of hipster/emo hatred, or watch the Morgan Spurlock documentary Mansome.
