When you’ve been hired to perform at the biggest, most watched sporting event of the year, you have the power to call a press conference for the sole purpose of proving a point.
Yesterday, Beyonce walked into a room full of reporters with “Super Bowl XLVII” and the Pepsi logo emblazoned in lights behind her and said “Hello, how is everyone? Would you guys mind standing?”
You would be correct in guessing that a slightly rushed version of the National Anthem came after.
I guess the whispers of deceit and even the question of how much air her lungs can hold after the Inauguration lip-sync scandal finally got to her. Afterwards she said this:
Well I am a perfectionist and one thing about me – I practice until my feet bleed – and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show and a very, very emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments, and due to weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk.
It was about the president and the Inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud so I decided to sing along with my prerecorded track, which is very common in the music industry.
And this, on what she’ll be doing at the Ravens/49ers game:
I will absolutely be singing live. This is what I was born to do.
I love how she responded to the media’s interrogation by blaming the weather. Grandmas and kids who are late to school everywhere applaud her.
beyonce is a liar who tricked america. Victoria jackson should teach her a lesson!
