Oh no! It’s not like the very funny, very Jewish Joan doesn’t make jokes like this every week. Her favorite topics include WWII, tampons, plastic surgery and obesity…
Unlike a child who has accidentally broken a window with a baseball or stolen candy from the drug store, Rivers is not apologizing for the comment. Her only acknowledgment of the incident seems to be a sort of f*ck you to the Anti-Defamation League, who called the joke “offensive” and “vulgar.”
My husband lost the majority of his family at Auschwitz, and I can assure you that I have always made it a point to remind people of the Holocaust through humor.
If she were a black comedian saying the n-word over and over again and/or making slave jokes would anyone even notice, let alone accuse her of being insensitive?
I completely understand that the joke relates to subject matter that many find uncomfortable, but there’s this one solution that totally works… I strongly dislike Daniel Tosh and Larry The Cable Guy, so you know what I do? I DON’T WATCH THEIR SHOWS.
