Paris Jackson’s whirlwind week seems to finally be coming to an end, but is the teenage daughter of the most prolific pop star of all time in trouble beyond her recent hospital stay for a suicide attempt?
Of course she is. Celebrity offspring (Bobbi Kristina, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, Mackenzie Phillips etc.) are like child stars who never had to work to get where they are. They’re a more unpredictable breed of socialites. Equally spoiled, yet more scrutinized.
Jackson’s psychiatric hold was lifted Saturday evening when she was transferred to UCLA Medical Center, the same hospital where Michael Jackson passed away.
A statement approved by Paris’ guardian, Katherine Jackson, released just after she cut her wrists said, “Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are…”
Imagine trying to be okay four years after your father died with an outpour of new stories about him and the rest of your family continuing to haunt you. You’ve got Conrad Murray, the man basically convicted of killing him, saying he’s “here for you.” Then Marilyn Manson is pretending to cut his wrists onstage while Wade Robson is reminding everyone that MJ was a sexual predator. Oh, and your birthmother is finally in your life.
ON TOP OF ALL THAT, Paris has a movie in the works. Word has it, producers of Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys are frantically taking out some kind of self-harm insurance policy on her to prevent liability.
The movie sounds like the biggest pile of excrement ever. Here’s a description via The Daily Beast:
This is the IMDB plot description: “Ancient sea-magic turns a dolphin into a human, an evil spell changes a teenage boy into a dragonfly and a once good jellyfish queen morphs into an evil fairy godmother.” Larry King; his wife, Shawn Southwick; and former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone will play supporting characters.
“He didn’t want anyone to see what we looked like. That way we could have what he didn’t, which was a normal childhood,” Paris said in a Daily Mail interview earlier this year regarding The King of Pop’s wishes.
Former Mrs. Doubtfire and Matilda star Mara Wilson recently wrote up an interesting list of reasons why famous kids implode, wisely suggesting they all walk away from showbiz before it’s too late.
”Make sure it’s really your choice, get out of it when it stops being fun, and get an education,” Wilson writes in response to the controversy surrounding Lohan, Bynes and anyone else. AMEN.
(And skip it all together if your celeb dad passed away when you were 11 from a Propofol overdose.)
