Hundreds Injured, Two Dead in Boston Marathon Bombing

Boston Marathon bombing
Massachusetts police are still trying to determine what happened after two bombs detonated rapidly next to the finish line at the Boston Marathon, killing two and injuring at least a hundred more at around 3:00 p.m.

AP reports that two more explosive devices were found after the initial blast in Copley Square. “There are people who are really, really bloody,” a Toronto woman said while being treated in the medical tent.

Another witness wrote on Twitter that victims “with lost limbs” were wheeled from the scene.  Continue reading “Hundreds Injured, Two Dead in Boston Marathon Bombing”

Spring Breakers’ Box Office Bomb: Why Onscreen Butts Don’t Equal Butts in the Seats

Spring Breakers ButtsSpring Breakers‘ $5 million, 6th place weekend box office spot isn’t exactly a loss. The hypersexualized movie, directed by Kids co-writer Harmony Korine, only cost $2 million to make.

It was also surprisingly well-reviewed by some (even Richard Roeper is a perv), with a slightly higher rating on Rotten Tomatoes than The Croods. Others called it “racist” and “thoughtless.”

Arizona Woman Robs Mini-Mart With Toy Penguin

On November 23rd a woman in Yavapai County, Arizona, robbed a Chevron mini-mart by putting one hand in her sweater and claiming she had a bomb in order to get cash from the register. The clerk refused, and the suspect fled the scene.

The crime occurred at about 6:15 p.m. and the woman’s identity was discovered merely an hour later. Andri Jeffers, 26, was made by the clerk who wrote down the license plate number from her Chrysler Pacifica. A surveillance photo didn’t hurt either.

Deputies arrived at her house, where she admitted to the crime and the fact that the “bomb” was actually a toy penguin. She was booked for one count of attempted robbery at the Camp Verde Detention Center.

“Glee 3D” Is A Bust

Glee 3D was released on Friday, August 12, 2011 and came inbetween The Change-Up and Horrible Bosses on the Box Office charts at 11th place.  For all the promoting they’ve done I’d expect it to at least come in the low end of the top five, sheesh.

Glee 3D’s budget was a measly nine million but it only grossed $5.7 million and is expected to recuperate from at least that small amount over the next few weeks.
