Video: Maroon 5 – “Animals”

This completely unoriginal video, released 3 days ago, is apparently controversial.

A spokesperson for RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) are calling the video – which features Adam Levine creeping on real-life wifey/10,000th-model-he’s-bedded Behati Prinsloo – “a dangerous depiction of a stalker’s fantasy.”

I, on the other hand, believe that the majority of people have enough sense to differentiate harmless, horror-themed imagery from instructions on how to stalk and kill women, but then again, they are watching Maroon 5 videos in their spare time…

I personally found the video of him making babies with Minka Kelly more upsetting.

(Not sure if bad kisser or intentionally slobbering to make video grosser…?)

Jenny McCarthy Hired on as ‘The View’ Host, is Apparently Controversial

Jenny McCarthy son instagramSome are saying that Jenny McCarthy being hired onto The View to sit with Whoopi and Barbara and express opinions about culture and current events is controversial. She’s replacing adorably staunch Republican Elisabeth Hasslebeck, which is, in itself “controversial” if you really want to nitpick.

A bunch of “authorities” (because you know people back in the day went to college to one day discuss Jenny McCarthy joining a joint talk show in 2013) think ABC made a poor choice in the Playboy cover girl because of her stance on vaccinations. (Click here for more on that.)

Others may or may not find her dedication to talking about sex off-putting. Puh-lease. Have you seen The Talk? Those women are crazy in a good way and I can only assume The View is looking to mix it up and make it “fun” the way their competition over at CBS has.  Continue reading “Jenny McCarthy Hired on as ‘The View’ Host, is Apparently Controversial”

Wayne Gretzky’s Daughter Is ‘The Wild One’

Poor Wayne Gretzky can’t catch a post-retirement break. He may be “The Great One” and the Michael Jordan of hockey but his stint as coach and part-owner of the Phoenix Coyotes didn’t exactly go as planned.

Now his party-girl daughter is causing all kinds of trouble.

23 year-old Paulina Gretzky has been boiling a pot of controversy on networking sites like Twitter and Instagram for posting bazillions of racy photos that all look like the “clean” shots for porn dvd case covers.

There’s actually one where she’s sitting spread eagle (in a bikini) next to what looks like a shirtless beach bum  and a female version of Skrillex.

Wodka Vodka Removes Controversial Billboards

The Polish/NY vodka company known as “Wodka Vodka” have taken a lot of flak for their recent potentially anti-semitic ad campaign which they promptly removed and apologized for.

The billboard was seen around New York, with the words “Christmas Quality, Hanukah Pricing.” Though it was reportedly designed by a Jewish man, it’s still a question mark.

Especially since I know for a fact that Hanukkah stuff costs way more than Christmas stuff, but maybe that’s only on the West Coast where you have to go to 50 different stores just to find a Menorah.

Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ Vid Mirrors Chris Brown Romance?

Rihanna’s new video is here, you know, the one that got her kicked out of a field in Northern Ireland because some sensible farmer was like, “Hey there’s a half-naked lady and a camera crew squatting in my wheat crop, what’s up with that?”

And people (me) were wondering if she was dating that dude in the video, purse-lipped boxer/model Dudley O’Shaughnessy who plays her boyfriend in it. People (me) are now also wondering if perhaps this whole video is inspired by her rocky romance with Chris Brown.

Controversial Tattooed Barbie Is About As ‘Scary’ As Avril

Mattel has teamed up with Tokidoki to make an alternative Barbie who sports a pink bob, a skull shirt and TATTOOS.

Parents and bloggers – who happen to be uptight Tea Party types – are outraged at the very thought of a tatted-up Barbie. Like, how dare she ruin the lovely reputation of this classic doll, who first appeared back in 1959!?

Barbie was like an early version of tabloids, music videos and movies, something to remind us of what we can never be.

And don’t forget, they already made one called “Totally Stylin’ Tattoos Barbie” in 2009, which included applicable stickers for not only the doll but for its owner.

Don’t dolls and toys exist as an experiment of things we COULD do to ourselves, but wouldn’t necessarily do?

Like the time my friends and I took a Barbie’s head off and stuffed slugs inside of her right before burying her in the garden…

There’s A New Children’s Book About Dieting?!?

Just I’d let you guys know that this is a real book, it’s not out yet, but it’s by Paul Kramer (Do Not Dread Wetting the Bed, Divorce Stinks!) and will be available in October.

It discusses a very controversial issue – dieting among children. Maggie Goes On A Diet is targeted at a 4-12 year old audience, according to Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

A 14 year-old girl who is harassed by classmates for overeating and not being the same size as them decides to change her image, not by crash diets or pills, but by replacing her former eating habits with healthy ones and also by exercising.
