No Armbar Needed: Ronda Rousey DECIMATES Alexis Davis in 16 Seconds for Tenth Straight Win … Can Anyone Beat Her?

Ronda Rousey Alexis Davis fight gif UFC 175Ronda Rousey is a powerhouse, a beast and arguably the most exciting fighter to watch in either men or women’s MMA. She’s also so far ahead of her competition that only one of her ten fights has ever gone past the first round. Her latest bout against #2 seed Alexis Davis was surprisingly short, even for a Rousey fight. After a mere 16 seconds, she flipped a seemingly lifeless Davis on her back and popped her in the face about 7 times. The punishment she doled out was already too much for the refs to stomach, and it was over.

I’m starting to think the only way to make the fights fair is if Ronda’s opponents are on steroids, or if Ronda herself is horribly injured or plastered out of her mind. Seriously, I’d put $1000 on drunk Ronda over sober whoever on steroids. It still wouldn’t be a contest.

So far, only Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche have come even remotely close to defeating Ronda. People still think early women’s MMA trailblazer-turned actress Gina Carano could pull a win out of the bag against her, but I’m a firm believer that the only woman who stands a chance is the one who brutally defeated Carano in 2009.  Continue reading “No Armbar Needed: Ronda Rousey DECIMATES Alexis Davis in 16 Seconds for Tenth Straight Win … Can Anyone Beat Her?”

WATCH: Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carano’s Fight Scene in ‘Fast & Furious 6’

Michelle Rodriguez Gina Carano fight sceneMichelle Rodriguez was brought back to life in 2011’s Fast Five only to get in a vicious, body-bruising rumble with Gina Carano’s cop character in this year’s Fast & Furious 6.

“It’s an action movie and I have so much responsibility just being a girl, like, in this lane of tomboyishness. I have to represent, [I said], ‘We have to make this real,’” Michelle told Access Hollywood on her scenes with the former MMA fighter and Haywire star. “I don’t mind getting the crap beat out of me, as long as it’s believable. For me, that comes first and foremost in the whole thing.”

I wouldn’t want to get in a fight with either (best case scenario: I die), but I’d definitely run away screaming a little faster from Gina. I mean, it actually says on her IMDb that she was “born under a tornado warning.”

Peter Travers Is An Ignoramus, Thinks ‘Haywire’ Is Better Than ‘Dragon Tattoo’

I never completely trusted Rolling Stone movie reviews but this time I’m angry that I don’t have a fireplace or hobo-style porch barrel for the simple purpose of LIGHTING THE LATEST ISSUE ON FIRE.

I haven’t seen Haywire, and while I’m sort of surprised that people are somehow intrigued by the idea of another movie with a female action star simply because this one (Gina Carano) is big in the MMA circuit, I would still watch it. There’s just absolutely no way that it’s somehow better than The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which is the message in the Bowie issue of RS where Peter Travers gave Haywire three and a half stars and called Carano “poetry in kickass motion.”  Continue reading “Peter Travers Is An Ignoramus, Thinks ‘Haywire’ Is Better Than ‘Dragon Tattoo’”

That Lady From ‘Haywire’ Seems Like A Bitch

If I have to see the ad for Haywire one more time I’m going to…do nothing at all. But I’m going to wish I that I was a short-bus superhero whose power was to go temporarily blind and deaf.

Really, Steven Soderbergh? Another movie about a betrayed spy, but it’s different because there’s a woman knocking people over like a rainforest in Peru instead of Matt Damon, Daniel Craig or Jason Statham?
