‘American Idol’ Season 13 Officially Has The Worst Judge’s Panel Ever

American idol judges 2013With newbie Harry Connick Jr. and stragglers Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban filling American Idol’s judge seats for season 13, I have to ask, WHY?

Why is the show still airing? Why did they pick Harry Connick Jr. and WHY did Jennifer Lopez agree to come back on the leaky sinking ship that Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul built and abandoned ages ago?

The Voice has had Shakira, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo and Adam Levine, and they pick Harry Connick Jr.? America’s Got Talent is not doing much better with Mel B. It’s really not that hard to know what the kids are into these days…

X-Factor knows. Khloe, Demi, Britney… Harry Connick Jr. is only cool to people who still read newspapers, watch TV for the Brady Bunch reruns and masturbate to polaroid pictures they keep in a shoebox.

Three High-Profile Celebrity Judges And One Dawg Confirmed For ‘American Idol’

American Idol producers have sealed the deal with Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, who will join Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson (who was rumored to not be returning) as judges.

The people behind this are EXTREMELY excited. Possibly more excited than longtime viewers.

Mike Darnell called the grouping “one of the most exciting judging panels around,” while Simon Fuller used the word “dynamic” to describe season 12.  Continue reading “Three High-Profile Celebrity Judges And One Dawg Confirmed For ‘American Idol’”

Judge Jennifer Lopez Tells Judge Mariah And Judge Britney To Not ‘Think Too Much’

Two-year American Idol judge J-Lo has advice for the two latest big-name pop princesses to try their uncalloused hands at music competition judging.

“If you try and think too much about what people might think or what you’re saying too much, I think you get lost.” …That’s Lopez’s advice to X Factor‘s Britney Spears, and honorable season 12 Idol judge Mariah Carey.

Here’s a short list of things that are a problem for Mariah Carey and Britney Spears…  Continue reading “Judge Jennifer Lopez Tells Judge Mariah And Judge Britney To Not ‘Think Too Much’”

New ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Judges Are Virtual Unknowns, Just Like The Competition

Tyra Banks is running out of ideas for America’s Next Top Model. If the All-Stars and British Invasion cycles weren’t proof enough, “College Edition” is approaching and she’s officially replaced all the judges (except Kelly Cutrone) plus creative consultant Jay Manuel and runway coach “Miss” J. Alexander.

Nigel Barker has been switched out for fellow Brit and model Rob Evans, who will sit next to fashion blogger Bryan “Bryanboy” Grey Yambao on the ANTM panel along with Tyra and Kelly.  Continue reading “New ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Judges Are Virtual Unknowns, Just Like The Competition”

Demi Lovato And Britney Spears Are Confirmed ‘X Factor’ Judges

Earlier this month E! reported that Britney Spears wanted Demi Lovato to appear on X-Factor with her. Now they’ve both been confirmed and her wish has been granted, Lovato will join her as a replacement to Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

Simon Cowell and LA Reid will even out the panel in terms of gender, but will Demi compliment Britney? They are similar. Lovato’s struggles (with cutting and bulimia) and comeback does seem familiar.

Tyra Banks Makes Room For New Faces, Fires Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel And Miss J

Tyra Banks and America’s Next Top Model co-creator Ken Mok have fired runway coach “Miss” J. Alexander, creative director Jay Manuel and judge since season two Nigel Barker.

That’s every recognizable face on the show besides Tyra, gone.

The three will have vanished by the 19th season (18 is currently running) and there’s no word on whether current harpy judge Kelly Cutrone will stay.

Barker told E! News that he wasn’t taken aback:

“It wasn’t a shock. I’m friends with Tyra and the producers. There had been a discussion that ratings were down and that something like this would happen.”  Continue reading “Tyra Banks Makes Room For New Faces, Fires Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel And Miss J”

Alright Voice Judges, Time To Change Your Clothes

You may or may not have noticed that this, but for the third battle round in a row, the judges on The Voice haven’t bothered to change their clothes.

This is actually because these two-hour episodes were filmed all at one time.

The dummies at NBC didn’t bother to tell Christina Aguilera to take off her shrunken Liza Minnelli hat to at least allude to it being a different day.

I’m tired of Adam Levine in his oversized brown J-Crew abomination that looks it’s from the closet of some rustic cabin in Colorado. And Cee Lo, in a specially-made letterman jacket for Big & Tall dwarfs.
