Howard Stern Doesn’t Think Natalia Kills Should Have Been Fired

Natalia Kills Howard SternAmerican’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern has weighed in on the Natalia Kills / Willy Moon firing over at The X Factor New Zealand.

Like the rest of the United States, Stern and Robin Quivers barely knew who Natalia was (Quivers accidentally called her “Natalie”). Stern thought Natalia and her husband went too far, but didn’t agree with them being fired because “they asked for her opinion.”

“They were outrageous,” Stern said. “They made a personal attack on a guy who didn’t deserve it. I felt the two judges were just a**holes.”  Continue reading “Howard Stern Doesn’t Think Natalia Kills Should Have Been Fired”

A cat that wants to fight crime or thinks his owner needs to relax?

cat smoking weedSo an interesting thing happened last Sunday in New Zealand. A cat brings a bag of about five grams of weed home. The owner of the cat then called the cops to report the incident. Now police are conducting further investigation to see where the drugs originated.

Numerous scenarios cross my mind wondering how and why this cat acquired the bag of weed. Was this cat a superhero, fighting crime and doing his part to clean up the streets? Is there a drug dealer somewhere with claw and bite marks all over his face claiming to have been attacked by a cat wearing a mask and cape? Or maybe the cat was fed up with his cranky hormonal owner and just wanted her to relax.

In either case it seems as though cats are really trying to make a comeback. Like the feline, Tara, who saved a boy from being attacked by a dog…  Continue reading “A cat that wants to fight crime or thinks his owner needs to relax?”

Khal Drogo Does a Sexy Polynesian Mating Dance

Jason Momoa shakaIt’s time to stop wondering what Jason Momoa does in his spare time besides getting into bar fights (yes, that’s a real scar) and marrying Lisa Bonet. TMZ has the answer…

In a new video acquired by Harvey Levin and his team of widespread camera-fondlers, we see our favorite Game of Thrones barbarian being the perfect example of physical perfection on the beach in Auckland, NZ.

Sadly, he’s not actually doing a mating dance. But it is a war dance now used by rugby players to intimate their opponents. And you know what happens after war. And rugby. (Shower sex?)

According to Wiki, the Haka is a traditional ancestral dance from the Māori people of New Zealand using the hands, arms legs, feet, eyes, voice and tongue to express courage.  Continue reading “Khal Drogo Does a Sexy Polynesian Mating Dance”

Aliens Discovered Near Volcanoes In New Zealand

National Geographic posted a variety of pictures of creatures discovered in Northern New Zealand in “Undersea mountains, continental slopes, canyons, and hydrothermal vents.”

The research area spanned 3,800 square miles around Kermadec Ridge and the species were both new and old to scientists. So maybe they’re not “aliens,” but close enough.

The polychaete worm (above) is a predator with projecting jaws. Other animals included squat lobsters, “Mickey Mouse” squid, “Hairy” crabs, black dragonfish, and tonguefish.  Continue reading “Aliens Discovered Near Volcanoes In New Zealand”

Cutest Intruder EVER, Baby Seal Enters New Zealand Home

Last week a woman in New Zealand experienced the break-in of a lifetime, and not because all her worldly possessions were stolen or because anyone attempted to harm her but because a baby seal snuck in through her cat door and took a nap on her couch.

Annette Swoffer heard a loud noise in her bayfront home and wandered downstairs to find the sea creature in her kitchen, “I thought ‘I’m hallucinating, this is just wrong,'” Swoffer told the NZ Herald, “Then it looks at me with those huge brown eyes. It was so cute, but I didn’t touch it because you don’t with wild animals.”

Cut Off Your Hands – Hollow Album Review

Auckland, New Zealand, City of Sails, home of the Sky Tower, various volcanoes and rugby. Not to mention the band Cut Off Your Hands, which I used to confuse with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and in turn Does it Offend You, Yeah? Both great indie bands in their own right, though out of the three, Cut Off Your Hands is the most relatable.

Singer Nick Johnston has more than just brooding good looks on his side, he’s got the versatile vocals to match. The soothing side of Robert Smith and the lighter side of Ian McCulloch, with that familiar but never tiring indie kick to it. Cut Off Your Hands are now on their second album, and first since 2008′s You and I. The sophomoric effort from this kiwi quartet, Hollow, is a step down in pace from You and I, though never a step down in quality.
