Damn, I Was Hoping For A ‘Junior’ Sequel

There’s a Twins sequel in the works! Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are both on board for the second installment which will be called Triplets. It gets better – Eddie Murphy will play the third brother!

In case you don’t remember or weren’t alive, here’s the synopsis: Julius (Schwarzenegger) and Vincent (DeVito) are fraternal twins created in a secret genetics lab experiment. The goal was to create the “perfect child” using sperm from various donors.

Turns out, the twins, who were separated at birth and are at first unaware of each other’s existence, were a failure in that one is perfect and the other is a fat bald gnome with a criminal past.

Eddie Murphy would assume the role of yet another lost sibling. The character will probably be similar to Tower Heist’s “Slide.” Ivan Reitman, who directed Twins, will produce.

Spock Enjoying A Latte In ‘Star Trek 2’ Set Pics

Leaked set photos from J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel that is set for 2013 have appeared to possibly spoil plot fragments and more! Not only are there speculations that the movie will be in 3D (note the word “MAX” on the camera)

The villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch is shown in a fight with Spock (Zachary Quinto) who looks to be Vulcan death-gripping him, and later with Zoe Saldana in her super short Starfleet skirt.

This is significant to nerds because Cumberbatch (every time I hear that name I think of Hubert Cumberdale from Salad Fingers) is human in the movie. The round ears and lack of special makeup seem to indicate this.  Continue reading “Spock Enjoying A Latte In ‘Star Trek 2’ Set Pics”

Original Cast And Director To Return For ‘X-Men: First Class’ Sequel

You can rest easy, the next X-Men movie is unlikely to throw the franchise back into the depths of critically-panned hell. Not only does it sound like the original cast will return but the director, Matthew Vaughn, will reprise as well.

Michael Fassbender as a vengeful Magneto and Jennifer Lawrence as the naked blue shapeshifter Mystique are reportedly sure to  star and I would assume James McAvoy too though that has not been confirmed.  Continue reading “Original Cast And Director To Return For ‘X-Men: First Class’ Sequel”

Nicolas Cage Wants To Play A Ghost In ‘The Wicker Man 2’

Nicolas Cage, who has been spoofed famously on SNL for his lack of the ability to say no to money/degrading movie roles expressed interest in a Wicker Man sequel.

If you can extend your memory back to 2006, past Cage’s other flops, you’ll remember that the remake to Robin Hardy’s kitschy 1973 horror movie was nearly as hilarious but 20 times more pitiful than the original.

Since his character died he explained via a fan’s webchat question that he’d like to play a spirit. The questions was, “is there any character you’d like to revist?” To which he replied:

J.J. Abrams Confirmed To Direct ‘Star Trek 2’

After months and months of skirting around the issue and not answering directly whether or not he’d be helming the next Star Trek remake movie,

J.J. Abrams (Lost, Super 8) finally confirmed that he has signed on to direct it.

The sequel does not have an exact release date, but we know the year is 2013. We also know that the entire original cast from the 2009 film will return for Star Trek 2.

Sex And The City 3 Still a Strong Possibility

Sarah Jessica Parker told Parade Magazine (yes, that colorful thing that slides out of your Sunday newspaper) that she already knows of a storyline for a third Sex And The City movie…

When asked if there was a chance for another installment in the popular HBO series that first turned film in 2008 SJP replied,

“There is. I know what the story is. It’s a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?”

This is the second time this summer that we’ve heard such things from Parker, in March she let out a very similar quote to MTV at Cannes,

“I think there is perhaps one more small, important story to tell…Whether or not we choose to do that and when we choose to do that remains, obviously, the unknown, but it’s nice to ponder.”

Machete AND Sin City Sequels, Coming Your Way

At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, Robert Rodriguez officially confirmed funding and titles for Machete and Sin City sequels.

A Sin City sequel has been rumored since the original movie’s release in 2005 while another Machete film was a lesser known topic. Rodriguez told the public that both movies had funding and that he’d like to start filming Sin City 2: A Damn To Kill For in the fall and is looking to included members of the original cast.

Austin Powers is Coming Back!

Reports of another Austin Powers movie surfaced as early as 2008, but it was just confirmed by Hitfix that Austin Powers 4 is a go and will star Mike Myers. Don’t get too excited for more Fat Bastard sex scenes or Dr. Evil quotables, they are not expecting the film’s release until 2013.

New Superman AND Catwoman Costumes Revealed!

Costumes have recently been revealed for the two biggest upcoming comic book movie releases, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (due Summer 2012) and Zach Snyder’s remake of Superman, Man Of Steel, due out in 2013.

The changes to the Superman suit are very subtle or non-existant. The only real difference is the lack of signature curly-q hair string.

The true shocker comes from the new Catwoman outfit, which is too complicated and space-agey for its own good(=bad), if you ask me and anyone else. But there is SOMEONE coming to the outfit’s defense, Anne Hathaway herself, who said,

“What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do. And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”
